58 Second Corinthians 8:7-10 ⁷ܐܠܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܒܟܠܡܕܡ ܡܬܝܬܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܒܡܠܬܐ ܘܒܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܒܟܠ ܚܦܝܛܘ ܘܒܚܘܒܢ ܕܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܒܗܕܐ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܬܬܝܬܪܘܢ ܀ ⁸ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܦܩܕ ܦܩܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܒܚܦܝܛܘܬܐ ܕܚܒܪܝܟܘܢ ܫܪܪܐ ܕܚܘܒܟܘܢ ܡܢܤܐ ܐܢܐ ܀ ⁹ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܛܝܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܡܛܠܬܟܘܢ ܐܬܡܤܟܢ ܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܥܬܝܪܐ ܕܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܡܤܟܢܘܬܗ ܬܥܬܪܘܢ ܀ ¹⁰ܡܡܠܟ ܕܝܢ ܡܠܟ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܕܐ ܕܡܥܕܪܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢ ܐܫܬܩܕܝ ܫܪܝܬܘܢ ܠܘ ܠܡܨܒܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܀ (SYP)

58 Second Corinthians 8:7-10 ⁷Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. ⁸I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. ⁹For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. ¹⁰And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. 58 Second Corinthians 8:7-10 ⁷But as ye abound in everything, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. ⁸I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love. ⁹For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might become rich. ¹⁰And herein I give my judgment: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to make a beginning a year ago, not only to do, but also to will. 58 Second Corinthians 8:7-10 ⁷¶ Therefore, as you abound in every thing, in faith, in the word of God, in knowledge, in all perseverance, and by our love toward you, you should likewise excel in this gracious favor also. ⁸I am not making a demand on you, but I am prompted by the devotion of your fellow believers to test the sincerity of your love. ⁹For you know the gracious gift of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you, through his poverty, might be rich. ¹⁰Herein I give you my advice, that it may help you to go forward and accomplish what you, of your own accord, began to do last year. 58 Second Corinthians 8:7-10 ⁷Now as you excel in everything--in faith, in utterance, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in your love for us--see that you excel in this gracious work also.

⁸I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. ⁹For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich. ¹⁰And in this matter I give my advice: it is best for you now to complete what a year ago you began not only to do but to desire, (RSV)

58 Second Corinthians 8:7-10 ⁷But just as you excel in everything -- in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us -- see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

⁸I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. ⁹For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

¹⁰And here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. (NIV)
