50 First Corinthians 6:12-20 ¹²ܟܠ ܫܠܝܛ ܠܝ ܐܠܐ ܠܐ ܟܠ ܦܩܚ ܠܝ ܟܠ ܫܠܝܛ ܠܝ ܐܠܐ ܥܠܝ ܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܢܫܬܠܛ ܀ ¹³ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܕܟܪܤܐ ܘܟܪܤܐ ܕܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܬܪܬܝܗܝܢ ܡܒܛܠ ܦܓܪܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܠܙܢܝܘܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܡܪܢ ܘܡܪܢ ܠܦܓܪܐ ܀ ¹⁴ܐܠܗܐ ܕܝܢ ܘܠܡܪܢ ܐܩܝܡ ܘܠܢ ܡܩܝܡ ܒܚܝܠܗ ܀ ¹⁵ܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܦܓܪܝܟܘܢ ܗܕܡܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܢܤܒ ܗܕܡܐ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܢܥܒܕܝܘܗܝ ܗܕܡܐ ܕܙܢܝܬܐ ܚܤ ܀ ¹⁶ܐܘ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܕܢܩܦ ܠܙܢܝܬܐ ܚܕ ܗܘ ܦܓܪ ܐܡܝܪ ܓܝܪ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܬܪܝܗܘܢ ܚܕ ܦܓܪ ܀ ¹⁷ܡܢ ܕܢܩܦ ܕܝܢ ܠܡܪܢ ܗܘܐ ܥܡܗ ܚܕܐ ܪܘܚ ܀ ¹⁸ܥܪܘܩܘ ܡܢ ܙܢܝܘܬܐ ܟܠ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܕܢܥܒܕ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܦܓܪܗ ܗܝ ܡܢ ܕܡܙܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܦܓܪܗ ܗܘ ܚܛܐ ܀ ¹⁹ܐܘ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܦܓܪܟܘܢ ܗܝܟܠܐ ܗܘ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܕܥܡܪܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܗܝ ܕܩܒܠܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܕܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܀ ²⁰ܐܙܕܒܢܬܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܒܕܡܝܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܡܫܒܚܝܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܒܦܓܪܟܘܢ ܘܒܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܀ (SYP)

50 First Corinthians 6:12-20 ¹²All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. ¹³Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. ¹⁴And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. ¹⁵Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. ¹⁶What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. ¹⁷But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. ¹⁸Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. ¹⁹What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? ²⁰For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods.(KJV)

Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. ¹⁹Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own; ²⁰for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.(ASV)

Now the body is not meant for fornication, but for our Lord; and our Lord for the body. ¹⁴And as God has raised our Lord, so he will raise us also by his own power. ¹⁵Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? How then can one take a member of Christ and make it the member of a harlot? Far be it. ¹⁶Or do you not know that he who joins his body to a harlot is one body with her? For it is said, The two shall become one body. ¹⁷But he who unites himself with our Lord becomes one with him in spirit. ¹⁸Keep away from fornication. Every sin that a man commits is outside his body; but he who commits adultery sins against his own body. ¹⁹Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit that dwells within you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? ²⁰For you have been bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, because they belong to God. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be enslaved by anything. ¹³"Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food"--and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. ¹⁴And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. ¹⁵Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I therefore take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! ¹⁶Do you not know that he who joins himself to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, "The two shall become one flesh." ¹⁷But he who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. ¹⁸Shun immorality. Every other sin which a man commits is outside the body; but the immoral man sins against his own body. ¹⁹Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own; ²⁰you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.(RSV)

"Everything is permissible for me" -- but I will not be mastered by anything. ¹³"Food for the stomach and the stomach for food" -- but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. ¹⁴By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. ¹⁵Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! ¹⁶Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." ¹⁷But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

¹⁸Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. ¹⁹Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; ²⁰you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.(NIV)
