49 Second Timothy 2:14-18
14Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
(KJV)
49 Second Timothy 2:14-18
14Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
(KJV/NC)
49 Second Timothy 2:14-18
14Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they strive not about words, to no profit, to the subverting of them that hear.
15Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of truth.
16But shun profane babblings: for they will proceed further in ungodliness,
17and their word will eat as doth a gangrene: or whom is Hymenaeus an Philetus;
18men who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and overthrow the faith of some.

49 Second Timothy 2:14-18
14¶ You should keep these things in remembrance as a testimony before our Lord, that the faithful should not argue over words in which there is no profit but which are destruction to those who listen to them.
15Strive to conduct yourself perfectly before God, as a soldier without reproach and one who preaches straightforwardly the word of truth.
16Shun empty and worthless words, for they only increase the ungodliness of those who argue over them.
17And their word will be like a canker eating in many; such are Hymenaeus, and Philetus,
18Who have strayed from the truth, saying that the resurrection of the dead is already passed, thus destroying the faith of some. (LAM)
49 Second Timothy 2:14-18
14Remind them of this, and charge them before the Lord to avoid disputing about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers.
15Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
16Avoid such godless chatter, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,
17and their talk will eat its way like gangrene. Among them are Hymenae'us and Phile'tus,
18who have swerved from the truth by holding that the resurrection is past already. They are upsetting the faith of some.
(RSV)
49 Second Timothy 2:14-18
14Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.
15Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
16Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
17Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,
18who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some.

49 Second Timothy 2:14-18
14Remind them of these things, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they don't argue about words, to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear.
15Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn't need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.
16But shun empty chatter, for they will proceed further in ungodliness,
17and their word will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18men who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and overthrowing the faith of some.
