43 Luke 9:51-56 ⁵¹And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, ⁵²And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. ⁵³And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. ⁵⁴And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? ⁵⁵But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. ⁵⁶For the Son of man is not come to destroy mens lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.(KJV)

43 Luke 9:51-56 ⁵¹¶ And it happened when the days to go up on his journey were fulfilled, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. ⁵²So he sent messengers ahead of him; and they went away and entered into a Samaritan village to prepare for him. ⁵³But they did not receive him, because his face was set to go straight to Jerusalem. ⁵⁴When his disciples James and John saw it, they said to him, Our Lord, would you be willing that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did? ⁵⁵He turned and rebuked them, saying, You do not know of what spirit you are. ⁵⁶For the Son of man did not come to destroy lives, but to save. 43 Luke 9:51-56 ⁵¹As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. ⁵²And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him; ⁵³but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. ⁵⁴When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?" ⁵⁵But Jesus turned and rebuked them, ⁵⁶and they went to another village.(NIV)
