43 Luke 8:16-21 ¹⁶No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. ¹⁷For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. ¹⁸Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

¹⁹Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. ²⁰And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. ²¹And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.(KJV)

43 Luke 8:16-21 ¹⁶No man lights a lamp and covers it with a vessel, or puts it under the bed; but he puts it on the lamp stand, that whoever enters sees its light. ¹⁷For there is nothing covered which will not be uncovered; and nothing hidden which will not be known and come to light. ¹⁸Take heed how you hear; for he who has, to him shall be given; and from him who has not, even that which he thinks he has shall be taken away. ¹⁹And there came to him his mother and his brothers, and they were not able to speak to him because of the crowd. ²⁰And they said to him, Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to see you. ²¹He answered, saying to them, These are my mother and my brothers, those who hear the word of God and do it. 43 Luke 8:16-21 ¹⁶"No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light. ¹⁷For nothing is hid that shall not be made manifest, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come to light. ¹⁸Take heed then how you hear; for to him who has will more be given, and from him who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away."

¹⁹Then his mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not reach him for the crowd. ²⁰And he was told, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you." ²¹But he said to them, "My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it."(RSV)

43 Luke 8:16-21 ¹⁶"No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. ¹⁷For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. ¹⁸Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him."

¹⁹Now Jesus' mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. ²⁰Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you."

²¹He replied, "My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice."(NIV)
