42 Mark 14:17-21 ¹⁷ܘܟܕ ܗܘܐ ܪܡܫܐ ܐܬܐ ܥܡ ܬܪܥܤܪܬܗ ܀ ¹⁸ܘܟܕ ܤܡܝܟܝܢ ܘܠܥܤܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܚܕ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܕܐܟܠ ܥܡܝ ܗܘ ܢܫܠܡܢܝ ܀ ¹⁹ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܫܪܝܘ ܡܬܬܥܝܩܝܢ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܚܕ ܚܕ ܠܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܀ ²⁰ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܤܪ ܕܨܒܥ ܥܡܝ ܒܠܓܬܐ ܀ ²¹ܘܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܐܙܠ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܝ ܕܝܢ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܐܝܕܗ ܡܫܬܠܡ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܦܩܚ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܐܠܘ ܠܐ ܐܬܝܠܕ ܀ (SYP)

42 Mark 14:17-21 ¹⁷And in the evening he cometh with the twelve. ¹⁸And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. ¹⁹And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I? ²⁰And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish. ²¹The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.(KJV)

It would have been far better for that man never to have been born. (LAM)

It would have been better for that man if he had not been born."(RSV)

42 Mark 14:17-21 ¹⁷When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. ¹⁸While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me -- one who is eating with me."

¹⁹They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, "Surely not I?"

²⁰"It is one of the Twelve," he replied, "one who dips bread into the bowl with me. ²¹The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."(NIV)
