40 John 11:7-16 7Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. 8His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? 9Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. 10But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. 11These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. 13Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. 14Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. 15And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. 16Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. (KJV)

40 John 11:7-16 7Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. 8His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? 9Jesus answered, Are there not 12 hours in the day? (KJV/NC)

40 John 11:7-16 7Then after this he saith to the disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. 8The disciples say unto him, Rabbi, the Jews were but now seeking to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? 9Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. 10But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because the light is not in him. 11These things spake he: and after this he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12The disciples therefore said unto him, Lord, if he is fallen asleep, he will recover. 13Now Jesus had spoken of his death: but they thought that he spake of taking rest in sleep. 14Then Jesus therefore said unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. 15And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. 16Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said unto his fellow-disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. (ASV)

40 John 11:7-16 7After that he said to his disciples, Come, let us go again to Judea. 8His disciples said to him, Teacher, not long ago the Jews wanted to stone you, and yet are you going there again? 9Jesus said to them, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walks by daytime, he will not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10But if a man travels at nighttime, he will stumble, because there is no light in it. 11Jesus said these things; and after that he said to them, Our friend Lazar is asleep; but I am going to awaken him. 12His disciples said to him, Our Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get well. 13But Jesus spoke of his death; and they thought that what he said was sleeping in bed. 14Then Jesus said to them plainly, Lazar is dead; 15And I am glad I was not there, for your sakes, so that you may believe; but let us walk there. 16Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, Let us also go and die with him. (LAM)

40 John 11:7-16 7Then after this he said to the disciples, "Let us go into Judea again." 8The disciples said to him, "Rabbi, the Jews were but now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?" 9Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any one walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10But if any one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him." 11Thus he spoke, and then he said to them, "Our friend Laz'arus has fallen asleep, but I go to awake him out of sleep." 12The disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover." 13Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he meant taking rest in sleep. 14Then Jesus told them plainly, "Laz'arus is dead; 15and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him." 16Thomas, called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with him."(RSV)

40 John 11:7-16 7Then he said to his disciples, "Let us go back to Judea."

8"But Rabbi," they said, "a short while ago the Jews tried to stone you, and yet you are going back there?"

9Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours of daylight? A man who walks by day will not stumble, for he sees by this world's light. 10It is when he walks by night that he stumbles, for he has no light."

11After he had said this, he went on to tell them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up."

12His disciples replied, "Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better." 13Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep.

14So then he told them plainly, "Lazarus is dead, 15and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him."

16Then Thomas (called Didymus) said to the rest of the disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with him."(NIV)

9Jesus answered, 'Aren't there twelve hours of daylight? If a man walks in the day, he doesn't stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light isn't in him.' 11He said these things, and after that, he said to them, 'Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep.'

12The disciples therefore said, 'Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.'

13Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep. 14So Jesus said to them plainly then, 'Lazarus is dead. 15I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that youP may believe. Nevertheless, let's go to him.'

16Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, 'Let's go also, that we may die with him.'(WEB)

8The disciples told him, 'Rabbi, the Judeans were just trying to stone you, and are you going there again?'

9Yeshua answered, 'Aren't there twelve hours of daylight? If a man walks in the day, he doesn't stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light isn't in him.' 11He said these things, and after that, he said to them, 'Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep.'

12The disciples therefore said, 'Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.'

13Now Yeshua had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep. 14So Yeshua said to them plainly then, 'Lazarus is dead. 15I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless, let's go to him.'

16Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, 'Let's go also, that we may die with him.'(WEB/HNV)
