40 John 5:39-47 ³⁹ܒܨܘ ܟܬܒܐ ܕܒܗܘܢ ܡܤܒܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܤܗܕܝܢ ܥܠܝ ܀ ⁴⁰ܘܠܐ ܨܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܬܐܬܘܢ ܠܘܬܝ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܀ ⁴¹ܫܘܒܚܐ ܡܢ ܒܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܠܐ ܢܤܒ ܐܢܐ ܀ ⁴²ܐܠܐ ܝܕܥܬܟܘܢ ܕܚܘܒܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܝܬ ܒܟܘܢ ܀ ⁴³ܐܢܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܐܒܝ ܘܠܐ ܡܩܒܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܘܐܢ ܐܚܪܝܢ ܢܐܬܐ ܒܫܡ ܢܦܫܗ ܠܗܘ ܬܩܒܠܘܢ ܀ ⁴⁴ܐܝܟܢܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܡܗܝܡܢܘ ܕܫܘܒܚܐ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܚܕ ܡܩܒܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܡܢ ܚܕ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܒܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܀ ⁴⁵ܠܡܐ ܤܒܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܟܠ ܐܢܐ ܩܪܨܝܟܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܐܒܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܕܐܟܠ ܩܪܨܝܟܘܢ ܡܘܫܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܗ ܤܒܪܬܘܢ ܀ ⁴⁶ܐܠܘ ܓܝܪ ܒܡܘܫܐ ܗܝܡܢܬܘܢ ܐܦ ܒܝ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܘܫܐ ܓܝܪ ܥܠܝ ܟܬܒ ܀ ⁴⁷ܘܐܢ ܠܟܬܒܘܗܝ ܕܗܘ ܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܠܡܠܝ ܕܝܠܝ ܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܀ (SYP)

40 John 5:39-47 ³⁹Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. ⁴⁰And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. ⁴¹I receive not honour from men. ⁴²But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. ⁴³I am come in my Fathers name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. ⁴⁴How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? ⁴⁵Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. ⁴⁶For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. ⁴⁷But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?(KJV)

40 John 5:39-47 ³⁹¶ Examine the scriptures; in them you trust that you have eternal life; and even they testify concerning me. ⁴⁰Yet you will not come to me, that you might have life everlasting. ⁴¹I do not receive any praise from men. ⁴²But I know you well, that the love of God is not in you. ⁴³I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me; if another should come in his own name, you will receive him. ⁴⁴How can you believe, when you accept praise one from another, but the praise from God only, you do not want? ⁴⁵What! do you think that I will accuse you before the Father; there is one who will accuse you, even Moses, in whom you trust. ⁴⁶For if you had believed in Moses, you would also have believed in me; for Moses wrote concerning me. ⁴⁷If you do not believe his writings, how then can you believe my words? (LAM)

40 John 5:39-47 ³⁹yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. ⁴⁰I do not receive glory from men. ⁴¹But I know that you have not the love of God within you. ⁴²I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. ⁴³How can you believe, who receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God? ⁴⁴Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; it is Moses who accuses you, on whom you set your hope. ⁴⁵If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote of me. ⁴⁶But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?"

40 John 5:39-47 ³⁹You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, ⁴⁰yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

⁴¹"I do not accept praise from men, ⁴²but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. ⁴³I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. ⁴⁴How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?

⁴⁵"But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. ⁴⁶If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. ⁴⁷But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?"(NIV)
