40 John 5:18-20 ¹⁸ܘܡܛܠ ܗܕܐ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܠܡܩܛܠܗ ܠܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܕܫܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܫܒܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܕܥܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܒܘܗܝ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܫܘܐ ܗܘܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܥܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܀ ¹⁹ܥܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܒܪܐ ܥܒܕ ܡܕܡ ܡܢ ܨܒܘܬ ܢܦܫܗ ܐܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܚܙܐ ܠܐܒܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܒܐ ܥܒܕ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܦ ܒܪܐ ܐܟܘܬܗ ܥܒܕ ܀ ²⁰ܐܒܐ ܓܝܪ ܪܚܡ ܠܒܪܗ ܘܟܠܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ ܡܚܘܐ ܠܗ ܘܕܝܬܝܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܡܚܘܐ ܠܗ ܕܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܬܕܡܪܘܢ ܀ (SYP)

40 John 5:18-20 ¹⁸Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. ¹⁹Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. ²⁰For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 40 John 5:18-20 ¹⁸For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. ¹⁹Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner. ²⁰For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he show him, that ye may marvel. 40 John 5:18-20 ¹⁸And for this the Jews wanted the more to kill him, not only because he was weakening the sabbath, but also because he said concerning God that he was his Father, and he was making himself equal with God. ¹⁹Jesus answered, saying to them, Truly, truly, I say to you that the Son can do nothing of his own accord, except what he sees the Father doing; for the things which the Father does, the same the Son does also. ²⁰For the Father loves his Son, and he shows him everything that he does; and he will show him greater works than these, so that you may marvel. 40 John 5:18-20 ¹⁸Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, that the Son does likewise. ¹⁹For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all that he himself is doing; and greater works than these will he show him, that you may marvel. ²⁰For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will. (RSV)

40 John 5:18-20 ¹⁸For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

¹⁹Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. ²⁰For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these. (NIV)

40 John 5:18-20 ¹⁸For this cause therefore the Judeans sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. ¹⁹Yeshua therefore answered them, 'Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise. ²⁰For the Father has affection for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does.
