42 Mark 13:1-37 ¹And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! ²And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. ³And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, ⁴Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? ⁵And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: ⁶For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. ⁷And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. ⁸For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

⁹But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. ¹⁰And the gospel must first be published among all nations. ¹¹But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. ¹²Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. ¹³And ye shall be hated of all men for my names sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

¹⁴But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: ¹⁵And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house: ¹⁶And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment. ¹⁷But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! ¹⁸And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. ¹⁹For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. ²⁰And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elects sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. ²¹And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: ²²For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. ²³But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

²⁴But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, ²⁵And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. ²⁶And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. ²⁷And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. ²⁸Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: ²⁹So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. ³⁰Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. ³¹Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

³²But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. ³³Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. ³⁴For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. ³⁵Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: ³⁶Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. ³⁷And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.(KJV)

42 Mark 13:1-37 ¹And as he went forth out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Teacher, behold, what manner of stones and what manner of buildings! ²And Jesus said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left here one stone upon another, which shall not be thrown down. ³And as he sat on the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, ⁴Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when these things are all about to be accomplished? ⁵And Jesus began to say unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. ⁶Many shall come in my name, saying, I am he; and shall lead many astray. ⁷And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled: these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. ⁸For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there shall be earthquakes in divers places; there shall be famines: these things are the beginning of travail. ⁹But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in synagogues shall ye be beaten; and before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them. ¹⁰And the gospel must first be preached unto all the nations. ¹¹And when they lead you to judgment, and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. ¹²And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. ¹³And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. ¹⁴But when ye see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not (let him that readeth understand), then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains: ¹⁵and let him that is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out his house: ¹⁶and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. ¹⁷But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! ¹⁸And pray ye that it be not in the winter. ¹⁹For those days shall be tribulation, such as there hath not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be. ²⁰And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect's sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days. ²¹And then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, Lo, there; believe it not: ²²for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect. ²³But take ye heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand. ²⁴But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, ²⁵and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken. ²⁶And then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. ²⁷And then shall he send forth the angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. ²⁸Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh; ²⁹even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors. ³⁰Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished. ³¹Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. ³²But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. ³³Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. ³⁴It is as when a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch. ³⁵Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning; ³⁶lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. ³⁷And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.(ASV)

42 Mark 13:1-37 ¹WHEN JESUS went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, Teacher, behold, look at those stones and those buildings. ²Jesus said to him, Do you see these great buildings? Not a stone shall be left here upon another stone, which shall not be torn down. ³While Jesus sat on the mount of Olives, towards the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, ⁴Tell us when these things will happen, and what is the sign when all these things are about to be fulfilled?

These things are just the beginning of travail. ⁹Look out for yourselves; for they will deliver you to the judges, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; and you will stand before kings and governors for my sake, and as a testimony to them. ¹⁰But my gospel must first be preached among all nations. ¹¹When they bring you to deliver you up, do not worry beforehand what you will speak; and do not think of anything except what is given you in that very hour; speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. ¹²A brother will deliver his brother to death, and a father his son; and the children will rise up against their parents and put them to death. ¹³And you will be hated by all men because of my name; but he who has patience to the end will be saved.

¹⁴¶ But when you see the sign of uncleanness and desolation, as spoken by the prophet Daniel, accumulating where it should not be (let him who reads understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountain, ¹⁵And let him who is on the roof not come down, and not enter to take anything out of his house, ¹⁶And let him who is in the field not turn back to take his clothes. ¹⁷But woe to those who are with child and to those who give suck in those days! ¹⁸Pray that your flight may not be in winter. ¹⁹For in those days there will be suffering such as has never been from the beginning of the creation which God made until now, and never will be again. ²⁰And if the Lord had not shortened those days, no flesh would live; but for the sake of the elect ones, which he chose, he shortened those days. ²¹Then if any man should say to you, Behold, here is the Christ; or, behold, there; do not believe it. ²²For there will rise false Christs and lying prophets, and they will show signs and wonders, and mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones. ²³But be careful; behold, I have told you everything in advance.

²⁴¶ In those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, ²⁵And the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the universe will be shaken. ²⁶Then they will see the Son of man coming in the clouds, with a great army and with glory. ²⁷Then he will send his angels, and gather his chosen ones from the four winds, from the utmost part of the earth to the utmost part of heaven.

²⁸¶ From the fig tree learn a parable. When its branches become tender and bring forth leaves, you know that summer is coming. ²⁹So even you, when you see all these things happen, understand that it is near, even at the door. ³⁰Truly I say to you that this nation will not pass away until all these things happen. ³¹Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. ³²But concerning that day and that hour, no man knows, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, except the Father. ³³Watch, be alert, and pray; for you do not know when the time is. ³⁴It is just like a man who went on a journey, and left his house and gave authority to his servants and to each man his work, and he commanded the porter to keep awake. ³⁵Be alert therefore, for you do not know when the owner of the house will come, in the evening or at midnight or at the cock-crow or in the morning. ³⁶He might come suddenly and find you asleep. ³⁷What I say to you I say to all of you: Be alert. ¹⁴"When you see `the abomination that causes desolation' standing where it does not belong -- let the reader understand -- then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. <sup>15</sup>Let no one on the roof of his house go down or enter the house to take anything out. <sup>16</sup>Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. <sup>17</sup>How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! <sup>18</sup>Pray that this will not take place in winter, <sup>19</sup>because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now -- and never to be equaled again. <sup>20</sup>If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive.
