26 Psalms 102:1-28 ¹תְּ֭פִלָּה לְעָנִ֣י כִֽי־ יַעֲטֹ֑ף וְלִפְנֵ֥י יְ֝הוָ֗ה יִשְׁפֹּ֥ךְ שִׂיחֽוֹ׃ ²יְ֭הוָה שִׁמְעָ֣ה תְפִלָּתִ֑י וְ֝שַׁוְעָתִ֗י אֵלֶ֥יךָ תָבֽוֹא׃ ³אַל־ תַּסְתֵּ֬ר פָּנֶ֨יךָ׀ מִמֶּנִּי֮ בְּי֪וֹם צַ֫ר לִ֥י הַטֵּֽה־ אֵלַ֥י אָזְנֶ֑ךָ בְּי֥וֹם אֶ֝קְרָ֗א מַהֵ֥ר עֲנֵֽנִי׃ ⁴כִּֽי־ כָל֣וּ בְעָשָׁ֣ן יָמָ֑י וְ֝עַצְמוֹתַ֗י כְּמוֹ־ קֵ֥ד נִחָֽרוּ׃ ⁵הוּכָּֽה־ כָ֭עֵשֶׂב וַיִּבַ֣שׁ לִבִּ֑י כִּֽי־ שָׁ֝כַ֗חְתִּי מֵאֲכֹ֥ל לַחְמִֽי׃ ⁶מִקּ֥וֹל אַנְחָתִ֑י דָּבְקָ֥ה עַ֝צְמִ֗י לִבְשָׂרִֽי׃ ⁷דָּ֭מִיתִי לִקְאַ֣ת מִדְבָּ֑ר הָ֝יִ֗יתִי כְּכ֣וֹס חֳרָבֽוֹת׃ ⁸שָׁקַ֥דְתִּי וָאֶֽהְיֶ֑ה כְּ֝צִפּ֗וֹר בּוֹדֵ֥ד עַל־ גָּֽג׃ ⁹כָּל־ הַ֭יּוֹם חֵרְפ֣וּנִי אוֹיְבָ֑י מְ֝הוֹלָלַ֗י בִּ֣י נִשְׁבָּֽעוּ׃ ¹⁰כִּי־ אֵ֭פֶר כַּלֶּ֣חֶם אָכָ֑לְתִּי וְ֝שִׁקֻּוַ֗י בִּבְכִ֥י מָסָֽכְתִּי׃ ¹¹מִפְּנֵֽי־ זַֽעַמְךָ֥ וְקִצְפֶּ֑ךָ כִּ֥י נְ֝שָׂאתַ֗נִי וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵֽנִי׃ ¹²יָ֭מַי כְּצֵ֣ל נָט֑וּי וַ֝אֲנִ֗י כָּעֵ֥שֶׂב אִיבָֽשׁ׃ ¹³וְאַתָּ֣ה יְ֭הוָה לְעוֹלָ֣ם תֵּשֵׁ֑ב וְ֝זִכְרְךָ֗ לְדֹ֣ר וָדֹֽר׃ ¹⁴אַתָּ֣ה תָ֭קוּם תְּרַחֵ֣ם צִיּ֑וֹן כִּי־ עֵ֥ת לְ֝חֶֽנְנָ֗הּ כִּי־ בָ֥א מוֹעֵֽד׃ ¹⁵כִּֽי־ רָצ֣וּ עֲ֭בָדֶיךָ אֶת־ אֲבָנֶ֑יהָ וְֽאֶת־ עֲפָרָ֥הּ יְחֹנֵֽנוּ׃ ¹⁶וְיִֽירְא֣וּ ג֭וֹיִם אֶת־ שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וְֽכָל־ מַלְכֵ֥י הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ אֶת־ כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ ¹⁷כִּֽי־ בָנָ֣ה יְהוָ֣ה צִיּ֑וֹן נִ֝רְאָ֗ה בִּכְבוֹדֽוֹ׃ ¹⁸פָּ֭נָה אֶל־ תְּפִלַּ֣ת הָעַרְעָ֑ר וְלֹֽא־ בָ֝זָ֗ה אֶת־ תְּפִלָּתָֽם׃ ¹⁹תִּכָּ֣תֶב זֹ֭את לְד֣וֹר אַחֲר֑וֹן וְעַ֥ם נִ֝בְרָ֗א יְהַלֶּל־ יָֽהּ׃ ²⁰כִּֽי־ הִ֭שְׁקִיף מִמְּר֣וֹם קָדְשׁ֑וֹ יְ֝הוָ֗ה מִשָּׁמַ֤יִם׀ אֶל־ אֶ֬רֶץ הִבִּֽיט׃ ²¹לִ֭שְׁמֹעַ אֶנְקַ֣ת אָסִ֑יר לְ֝פַתֵּ֗חַ בְּנֵ֣י תְמוּתָֽה׃ ²²לְסַפֵּ֣ר בְּ֭צִיּוֹן שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וּ֝תְהִלָּת֗וֹ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ ²³בְּהִקָּבֵ֣ץ עַמִּ֣ים יַחְדָּ֑ו וּ֝מַמְלָכ֗וֹת לַעֲבֹ֥ד אֶת־ יְהוָֽה׃ ²⁴עִנָּ֖ה בַדֶּ֥רֶךְ קִצַּ֥ר יָמָֽי׃ ²⁵אֹמַ֗ר אֵלִ֗י אַֽל־ תַּ֭עֲלֵנִי בַּחֲצִ֣י יָמָ֑י בְּד֖וֹר דּוֹרִ֣ים שְׁנוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ ²⁶לְ֭פָנִים הָאָ֣רֶץ יָסַ֑דְתָּ וּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יָדֶ֣יךָ שָׁמָֽיִם׃ ²⁷הֵ֤מָּה׀ יֹאבֵדוּ֮ וְאַתָּ֪ה תַ֫עֲמֹ֥ד וְ֭כֻלָּם כַּבֶּ֣גֶד יִבְל֑וּ כַּלְּב֖וּשׁ תַּחֲלִיפֵ֣ם וְֽיַחֲלֹֽפוּ׃ ²⁸וְאַתָּה־ ה֑וּא וּ֝שְׁנוֹתֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א יִתָּֽמּוּ׃ (WLC)

26 Psalms 102:1

26 Psalms 102:1-28 ¹Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.

²Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

³For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

⁴My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

⁵By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

⁶I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

⁷I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

⁸Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

⁹For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

¹⁰Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

¹¹My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

¹²But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

¹³Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

¹⁴For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

¹⁵So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

¹⁶When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

¹⁷He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

¹⁸This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

¹⁹For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;

²⁰To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

²¹To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

²²When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

²³He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

²⁴I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

²⁵Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

²⁶They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

²⁷But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

²⁸The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.(KJV)

And let my cry come unto thee.

²Hide not thy face from me in the day of my distress:

Incline thine ear unto me;

In the day when I call answer me speedily.

³For my days consume away like smoke,

And my bones are burned as a firebrand.

⁴My heart is smitten like grass, and withered;

For I forget to eat my bread.

⁵By reason of the voice of my groaning

My bones cleave to my flesh.

⁶I am like a pelican of the wilderness;

I am become as an owl of the waste places.

⁷I watch, and am become like a sparrow

That is alone upon the house-top.

⁸Mine enemies reproach me all the day;

They that are mad against me do curse by me.

⁹For I have eaten ashes like bread,

And mingled my drink with weeping,

¹⁰Because of thine indignation and thy wrath:

For thou hast taken me up, and cast me away.

¹¹My days are like a shadow that declineth;

And I am withered like grass.

¹²But thou, O Jehovah, wilt abide for ever;

And thy memorial name unto all generations.

¹³Thou wilt arise, and have mercy upon Zion;

For it is time to have pity upon her,

Yea, the set time is come.

¹⁴For thy servants take pleasure in her stones,

And have pity upon her dust.

¹⁵So the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah,

And all the kings of the earth thy glory.

¹⁶For Jehovah hath built up Zion;

He hath appeared in his glory.

¹⁷He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute,

And hath not despised their prayer.

¹⁸This shall be written for the generation to come;

And a people which shall be created shall praise Jehovah.

¹⁹For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary;

From heaven did Jehovah behold the earth;

²⁰To hear the sighing of the prisoner;

To loose those that are appointed to death;

²¹That men may declare the name of Jehovah in Zion,

And his praise in Jerusalem;

²²When the peoples are gathered together,

And the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.

²³He weakened my strength in the way;

He shortened my days.

²⁴I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days:

Thy years are throughout all generations.

And the heavens are the work of thy hands.

¹²¶ But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever, and thy remembrance to all generations. ¹³Arise and have mercy upon Zion; for it is time to have mercy upon her. ¹⁴For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor the dust thereof. ¹⁵So the heathen shall worship the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. ¹⁶When the LORD builds up Zion, he shall appear in his glory. ¹⁷He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer. ¹⁸This shall be written for the generation to come; and the people who shall be created shall praise the LORD. ¹⁹For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth, ²⁰To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to loose those that are appointed to death, ²¹To declare the name of the LORD in Zion and his praises in Jerusalem, ²²When the peoples are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

²³¶ For they have weakened my strength on earth; they warned me of the shortage of my days. ²⁴O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days; thy years are throughout all generations. ²⁵Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands. ²⁶They shall perish, but thou shalt endure; yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture, they shall fade. ²⁷But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. ²⁸The children of thy servants shall continue and their descendants shall be established before thee. 26 Psalms 102:1-28 ¹A prayer of one afflicted, when he is faint and pours out his complaint before the LORD. ²Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to thee! ³Do not hide thy face from me in the day of my distress! Incline thy ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call! ⁴For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace. ⁵My heart is smitten like grass, and withered; I forget to eat my bread. ⁶Because of my loud groaning my bones cleave to my flesh. ⁷I am like a vulture of the wilderness, like an owl of the waste places; ⁸I lie awake, I am like a lonely bird on the housetop. ⁹All the day my enemies taunt me, those who deride me use my name for a curse. ¹⁰For I eat ashes like bread, and mingle tears with my drink, ¹¹because of thy indignation and anger; for thou hast taken me up and thrown me away. ¹²My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass. ¹³But thou, O LORD, art enthroned for ever; thy name endures to all generations. ¹⁴Thou wilt arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come. ¹⁵For thy servants hold her stones dear, and have pity on her dust. ¹⁶The nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. ¹⁷For the LORD will build up Zion, he will appear in his glory; ¹⁸he will regard the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their supplication. ¹⁹Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet unborn may praise the LORD: ²⁰that he looked down from his holy height, from heaven the LORD looked at the earth, ²¹to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die; ²²that men may declare in Zion the name of the LORD, and in Jerusalem his praise, ²³when peoples gather together, and kingdoms, to worship the LORD. ²⁴He has broken my strength in mid-course; he has shortened my days. ²⁵"O my God," I say, "take me not hence in the midst of my days, thou whose years endure throughout all generations!" ²⁶Of old thou didst lay the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of thy hands. ²⁷They will perish, but thou dost endure; they will all wear out like a garment. Thou changest them like raiment, and they pass away; ²⁸but thou art the same, and thy years have no end. [ (Psalms 102:29) The children of thy servants shall dwell secure; their posterity shall be established before thee. ] (RSV)

26 Psalms 102:1-28 ¹Psalm 102 A prayer of an afflicted man. When he is faint and pours out his lament before the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry for help come to you. ²Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.

³For my days vanish like smoke; my bones burn like glowing embers. ⁴My heart is blighted and withered like grass; I forget to eat my food.

⁵Because of my loud groaning I am reduced to skin and bones.

⁶I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins.

⁷I lie awake; I have become like a bird alone on a roof.

⁸All day long my enemies taunt me; those who rail against me use my name as a curse.

⁹For I eat ashes as my food and mingle my drink with tears

¹⁰because of your great wrath, for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.

¹¹My days are like the evening shadow; I wither away like grass.

¹²But you, O LORD, sit enthroned forever; your renown endures through all generations.

¹³You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.

¹⁴For her stones are dear to your servants; her very dust moves them to pity.

¹⁵The nations will fear the name of the LORD, all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.

¹⁶For the LORD will rebuild Zion and appear in his glory.

¹⁷He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea.

¹⁸Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD:

¹⁹"The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth,

²⁰to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death."

²¹So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem

²²when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the LORD.

²³In the course of my life he broke my strength; he cut short my days.

²⁴So I said: "Do not take me away, O my God, in the midst of my days; your years go on through all generations. ²⁵In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

²⁶They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.

²⁷But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

²⁸The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you."(NIV)

26 Psalms 102:1-28 ¹HEAR my prayer, oh Yahvah, and let my cry come to you. ²Do not turn your face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline your ear to me; in the day when I call, answer me speedily. ³For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are whitened as if they were burned. ⁴My heart is struck and withered like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread. ⁵Because of the voice of my groaning, my bones cling to my skin. ⁶I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl of the desert. ⁷I am shaken and alone like a sparrow on the house tops. ⁸My enemies disgrace me all the day; those who once praised me are now sworn against me. ⁹I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, ¹⁰Because of your indignation and your wrath; for you have lifted me up, and cast me down. ¹¹My days are like a shadow that declines; and I am withered like grass.

¹²But you, oh Yahvah, will endure forever, and your remembrance to all generations. ¹³Arise and have mercy on Zion; for it is time to have mercy on her. ¹⁴For your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor its dust. ¹⁵So the heathen will worship the name of Yahvah, and all the kings of the earth your glory. ¹⁶When Yahvah builds up Zion, he will appear in his glory. ¹⁷He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer. ¹⁸This will be written for the generation to come; and the people who will be created will praise Yahvah. ¹⁹For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven Yahvah saw the earth, ²⁰To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to loose those who are appointed to death, ²¹To declare the name of Yahvah in Zion and his praises in Jerusalem, ²²When the peoples are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve Yahvah.

²³For they have weakened my strength on earth; they warned me of the shortage of my days. ²⁴Oh my God, do not take me away in the middle of my days; your years are throughout all generations. ²⁵Of old you have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of your hands. ²⁶They will perish, but you will endure; yes, all of them will wax old like a garment; as a vesture, they will fade. ²⁷But you are the same, and your years will have no end. ²⁸The children of your servants will continue and their descendants will be established before you.
