26 Psalms 76:1-12 1In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

2In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

3There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

4Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

5The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.

6At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

7Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

8Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

9When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

10Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

11Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

12He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.(KJV)

His name is great in Israel.

2In Salem also is his tabernacle,

And his dwelling-place in Zion.

3There he brake the arrows of the bow;

The shield, and the sword, and the battle.

4Glorious art thou and excellent,

From the mountains of prey.

5The stouthearted are made a spoil,

They have slept their sleep;

And none of the men of might have found their hands.

6At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob,

Both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.

7Thou, even thou, art to be feared;

And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

8Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven;

The earth feared, and was still,

9When God arose to judgment,

To save all the meek of the earth.

Selah

10Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee:

The residue of wrath shalt thou gird upon thee.

11Vow, and pay unto Jehovah your God:

Let all that are round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

26 Psalms 76:1-12 1IN Judah is God known; his name is great in Israel. 2In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. 3There broke he the arms of the bow, the shield, and the sword, in the battle. 4Thou art all glorious and excellent from thy mighty mountain. 5All the foolish of heart were dismayed; the mighty men of valor slept their last sleep. 6Their hands prevailed not because of thy rebuke, O God of Jacob; the horsemen are cast into a dead sleep.

7¶ Thou, even thou, art to be feared; who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? 8Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth saw it and trembled 9When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. 10For the wisdom of man shall praise thee; the remainder of his wrath shalt thou restrain. 11Vow and fulfil thy vows to the LORD thy God; let all that be round about him bring presents to him who is to be revered. 12He shall humble the pride of the rulers; he is dreaded by the kings of the earth. 26 Psalms 76:1-12 1To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. 2In Judah God is known, his name is great in Israel. 3His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion. 4There he broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. [Selah] 5Glorious art thou, more majestic than the everlasting mountains. 6The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands. 7At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned. 8But thou, terrible art thou! Who can stand before thee when once thy anger is roused? 9From the heavens thou didst utter judgment; the earth feared and was still, 10when God arose to establish judgment to save all the oppressed of the earth. [Selah] 11Surely the wrath of men shall praise thee; the residue of wrath thou wilt gird upon thee. 12Make your vows to the LORD your God, and perform them; let all around him bring gifts to him who is to be feared, [ (Psalms 76:13) who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is terrible to the kings of the earth. ] (RSV)

4You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game.

5Valiant men lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep; not one of the warriors can lift his hands.

6At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still.

7You alone are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry? 8From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared and was quiet --

9when you, O God, rose up to judge, to save all the afflicted of the land. Selah 10Surely your wrath against men brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.

11Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the One to be feared.

12He breaks the spirit of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.(NIV)
