26 Psalms 60:1-12 ¹לַ֭מְנַצֵּחַ עַל־ שׁוּשַׁ֣ן עֵד֑וּת מִכְתָּ֖ם לְדָוִ֣ד לְלַמֵּֽד׃ ²בְּהַצּוֹת֨וֹ׀ אֶ֥ת אֲרַ֣ם נַהֲרַיִם֮ וְאֶת־ אֲרַ֪ם צ֫וֹבָ֥ה וַיָּ֤שָׁב יוֹאָ֗ב וַיַּ֣ךְ אֶת־ אֱד֣וֹם בְּגֵיא־ מֶ֑לַח שְׁנֵ֖ים עָשָׂ֣ר אָֽלֶף׃ ³אֱ֭לֹהִים זְנַחְתָּ֣נוּ פְרַצְתָּ֑נוּ אָ֝נַ֗פְתָּ תְּשׁ֣וֹבֵ֥ב לָֽנוּ׃ ⁴הִרְעַ֣שְׁתָּה אֶ֣רֶץ פְּצַמְתָּ֑הּ רְפָ֖ה שְׁבָרֶ֣יהָ כִי־ מָֽטָה׃ ⁵הִרְאִ֣יתָה עַמְּךָ֣ קָשָׁ֑ה הִ֝שְׁקִיתָ֗נוּ יַ֣יִן תַּרְעֵלָֽה׃ ⁶נָ֘תַ֤תָּה לִּירֵאֶ֣יךָ נֵּ֭ס לְהִתְנוֹסֵ֑ס מִ֝פְּנֵ֗י קֹ֣שֶׁט סֶֽלָה׃ ⁷לְ֭מַעַן יֵחָלְצ֣וּן יְדִידֶ֑יךָ הוֹשִׁ֖יעָה יְמִֽינְךָ֣ ⁸אֱלֹהִ֤ים׀ דִּבֶּ֥ר בְּקָדְשׁ֗וֹ אֶ֫עְלֹ֥זָה אֲחַלְּקָ֥ה שְׁכֶ֑ם וְעֵ֖מֶק סֻכּ֣וֹת אֲמַדֵּֽד׃ ⁹לִ֤י גִלְעָ֨ד׀ וְלִ֬י מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה וְ֭אֶפְרַיִם מָע֣וֹז רֹאשִׁ֑י יְ֝הוּדָ֗ה מְחֹֽקְקִי׃ ¹⁰מוֹאָ֤ב׀ סִ֬יר רַחְצִ֗י עַל־ אֱ֭דוֹם אַשְׁלִ֣יךְ נַעֲלִ֑י עָ֝לַ֗י פְּלֶ֣שֶׁת הִתְרֹעָֽעִֽי׃ ¹¹מִ֣י יֹ֭בִלֵנִי עִ֣יר מָצ֑וֹר מִ֖י נָחַ֣נִי עַד־ אֱדֽוֹם׃ ¹²הֲלֹֽא־ אַתָּ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֣ים זְנַחְתָּ֑נוּ וְֽלֹא־ תֵצֵ֥א אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים בְּצִבְאוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ (WLC)

26 Psalms 60:1

26 Psalms 60:1-12 ¹O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.

²Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

³Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.

⁴Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

⁵That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.

⁶God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

⁷Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

⁸Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.

⁹Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

¹⁰Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?

¹¹Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

¹²Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.(KJV)

²Thou hast made the land to tremble; thou hast rent it:

Heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

³Thou hast showed thy people hard things:

Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.

⁴Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee,

That it may be displayed because of the truth.

⁵That thy beloved may be delivered,

Save with thy right hand, and answer us.

⁶God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult;

I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

⁷Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine;

Ephraim also is the defence of my head;

Judah is my sceptre.

⁸Moab is my washpot;

Upon Edom will I cast my shoe:

Philistia, shout thou because of me.

⁹Who will bring me into the strong city?

Who hath led me unto Edom?

¹⁰Hast not thou, O God, cast us off?

And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

¹¹Give us help against the adversary;

For vain is the help of man.

¹²Through God we shall do valiantly;(ASV)

26 Psalms 60:1-12 ¹O GOD, thou hast forsaken us, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased with us; O turn thyself to us again. ²Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it; heal the breaches thereof, for it hath weakened. ³Thou hast shown thy people hardships; thou hast made us to drink the dregs of wine. ⁴Thou hast wrought a miracle to them that reverence thee, so that they need not flee from the bow. ⁵That thy beloved may be prepared, save with thy right hand, and hear me.

⁶¶ God has spoken in his holiness: I will be strong, I will divide Shechem and mete out the valley of Succoth. ⁷Gilead is mine and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of my head; Judah is my king. ⁸Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I levy tribute; over Philistia will I triumph. ⁹Who will lead me into Edom? Who will bring me into the strong city? ¹⁰For behold, O God, thou hadst cast us off, and thou didst not go before us with our armies. ¹¹Give us strength against our enemies; for vain is the help of man. ¹²Through God we shall do valiantly; for he it is who shall tread down our enemies. A Miktam of David; for instruction; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and when Joab on his return killed twelve thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt. ²O God, thou hast rejected us, broken our defenses; thou hast been angry; oh, restore us. ³Thou hast made the land to quake, thou hast rent it open; repair its breaches, for it totters. ⁴Thou hast made thy people suffer hard things; thou hast given us wine to drink that made us reel. ⁵Thou hast set up a banner for those who fear thee, to rally to it from the bow. [Selah] ⁶That thy beloved may be delivered, give victory by thy right hand and answer us! ⁷God has spoken in his sanctuary: "With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Vale of Succoth. ⁸Gilead is mine; Manas'seh is mine; E'phraim is my helmet; Judah is my scepter. ⁹Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph." ¹⁰Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? ¹¹Hast thou not rejected us, O God? Thou dost not go forth, O God, with our armies. ¹²O grant us help against the foe, for vain is the help of man! [ (Psalms 60:13) With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes. ] (RSV)

When he fought Aram Naharaim and Aram Zobah, and when Joab returned and struck down twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt. You have rejected us, O God, and burst forth upon us; you have been angry -- now restore us!

²You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking.

³You have shown your people desperate times; you have given us wine that makes us stagger.

⁴But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow. Selah

⁵Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered. ⁶God has spoken from his sanctuary: "In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Succoth. ⁷Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter.

⁸Moab is my washbasin, upon Edom I toss my sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph."

⁹Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? ¹⁰Is it not you, O God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?

¹¹Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.

¹²With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.(NIV)
