26 Psalms 58:1-11 ¹לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ אַל־ תַּשְׁחֵ֗ת לְדָוִ֥ד מִכְתָּֽם׃ ²הַֽאֻמְנָ֗ם אֵ֣לֶם צֶ֭דֶק תְּדַבֵּר֑וּן מֵישָׁרִ֥ים תִּ֝שְׁפְּט֗וּ בְּנֵ֣י אָדָֽם׃ ³אַף־ בְּלֵב֮ עוֹלֹ֪ת תִּפְעָ֫ל֥וּן בָּאָ֡רֶץ חֲמַ֥ס יְ֝דֵיכֶ֗ם תְּפַלֵּֽסֽוּן׃ ⁴זֹ֣רוּ רְשָׁעִ֣ים מֵרָ֑חֶם תָּע֥וּ מִ֝בֶּ֗טֶן דֹּבְרֵ֥י כָזָֽב׃ ⁵חֲמַת־ לָ֗מוֹ כִּדְמ֥וּת חֲמַת־ נָחָ֑שׁ כְּמוֹ־ פֶ֥תֶן חֵ֝רֵ֗שׁ יַאְטֵ֥ם אָזְנֽוֹ׃ ⁶אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־ יִ֭שְׁמַע לְק֣וֹל מְלַחֲשִׁ֑ים חוֹבֵ֖ר חֲבָרִ֣ים מְחֻכָּֽם׃ ⁷אֱ‍ֽלֹהִ֗ים הֲרָס־ שִׁנֵּ֥ימוֹ בְּפִ֑ימוֹ מַלְתְּע֥וֹת כְּ֝פִירִ֗ים נְתֹ֣ץ׀ יְהוָֽה׃ ⁸יִמָּאֲס֣וּ כְמוֹ־ מַ֭יִם יִתְהַלְּכוּ־ לָ֑מוֹ יִדְרֹ֥ךְ כְּמ֣וֹ יִתְמֹלָֽלוּ׃ ⁹כְּמ֣וֹ שַׁ֭בְּלוּל תֶּ֣מֶס יַהֲלֹ֑ךְ נֵ֥פֶל אֵ֝֗שֶׁת בַּל־ חָ֥זוּ שָֽׁמֶשׁ׃ ¹⁰בְּטֶ֤רֶם יָבִ֣ינוּ סִּֽירֹתֵיכֶ֣ם אָטָ֑ד כְּמוֹ־ חַ֥י כְּמוֹ־ חָ֝ר֗וֹן יִשְׂעָרֶֽנּוּ׃ ¹¹יִשְׂמַ֣ח צַ֭דִּיק כִּי־ חָזָ֣ה נָקָ֑ם פְּעָמָ֥יו יִ֝רְחַ֗ץ בְּדַ֣ם הָרָשָֽׁע׃ (WLC)

26 Psalms 58:1

26 Psalms 58:1-11 ¹Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

²Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

³The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

⁴Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

⁵Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

⁶Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.

⁷Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

⁸As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

⁹Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

¹⁰The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

¹¹So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.(KJV)

Do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

²Nay, in heart ye work wickedness;

Ye weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth.

³The wicked are estranged from the womb:

They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

⁴Their poison is like the poison of a serpent:

They are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear,

⁵Which hearkeneth not to the voice of charmers,

Charming never so wisely.

⁶Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth:

Break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Jehovah.

⁷Let them melt away as water that runneth apace:

When he aimeth his arrows, let them be as though they were cut off.

⁸Let them be as a snail which melteth and passeth away,

Like the untimely birth of a woman, that hath not seen the sun.

⁹Before your pots can feel the thorns,

He will take them away with a whirlwind, the green and the burning alike.

¹⁰The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance:

He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked;

¹¹So that men shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous:(ASV)

26 Psalms 58:1-11 ¹DO you indeed speak righteousness. O congregation? do you judge uprightly, O sons of men? ²Behold you all speak evil on earth, and your hands are soiled with injustice. ³The wicked are known from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies. ⁴Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf adder that stops its ear, ⁵And will not listen to the voice of the whisperer, neither to the charmer nor to the wise.

⁶¶ Break their teeth in their mouths, O God; pull out the fangs of the lions, O LORD. ⁷Let them be rejected as water which is contaminated; let God shoot his arrows until the wicked are destroyed. ⁸Like the wax that melts, and drips before the fire, let them be destroyed: fire has fallen from heaven and they did not see; the light of truth has been given and they did not understand. ⁹Let their thorns be increased, and fear of wrath shake them violently. ¹⁰The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance: he shall wash his hands in the blood of the wicked, ¹¹So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a God that judges in the earth. 26 Psalms 58:1-11 ¹To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Miktam of David. ²Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods? Do you judge the sons of men uprightly? ³Nay, in your hearts you devise wrongs; your hands deal out violence on earth. ⁴The wicked go astray from the womb, they err from their birth, speaking lies. ⁵They have venom like the venom of a serpent, like the deaf adder that stops its ear, ⁶so that it does not hear the voice of charmers or of the cunning enchanter. ⁷O God, break the teeth in their mouths; tear out the fangs of the young lions, O LORD! ⁸Let them vanish like water that runs away; like grass let them be trodden down and wither. ⁹Let them be like the snail which dissolves into slime, like the untimely birth that never sees the sun. ¹⁰Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns, whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away! ¹¹The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked. 26 Psalms 58:1-11 ¹Psalm 58 For the director of music. To the tune of "Do Not Destroy." Of David. A miktam. Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge uprightly among men?

²No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth. ³Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies.

⁴Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears, ⁵that will not heed the tune of the charmer, however skillful the enchanter may be.

⁶Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; tear out, O LORD, the fangs of the lions! ⁷Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows be blunted.

⁸Like a slug melting away as it moves along, like a stillborn child, may they not see the sun.

⁹Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns -- whether they be green or dry -- the wicked will be swept away.

¹⁰The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

¹¹Then men will say, "Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth."(NIV)

¹¹So that men shall say, 'Most assuredly there is a reward for the righteous.
