26 Psalms 58:1-11 1Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

2Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

3The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

4Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

5Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

6Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.

7Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

8As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

9Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

10The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.(KJV)

26 Psalms 58:1-11 1Do ye indeed in silence speak righteousness?

Do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

2Nay, in heart ye work wickedness;

Ye weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth.

3The wicked are estranged from the womb:

They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

4Their poison is like the poison of a serpent:

They are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear,

5Which hearkeneth not to the voice of charmers,

Charming never so wisely.

6Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth:

Break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Jehovah.

7Let them melt away as water that runneth apace:

When he aimeth his arrows, let them be as though they were cut off.

8Let them be as a snail which melteth and passeth away,

Like the untimely birth of a woman, that hath not seen the sun.

9Before your pots can feel the thorns,

He will take them away with a whirlwind, the green and the burning alike.

10The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance:

He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked;

11So that men shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous:(ASV)

26 Psalms 58:1-11 1DO you indeed speak righteousness. O congregation? do you judge uprightly, O sons of men? 2Behold you all speak evil on earth, and your hands are soiled with injustice. 3The wicked are known from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies. 4Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf adder that stops its ear, 5And will not listen to the voice of the whisperer, neither to the charmer nor to the wise.

6¶ Break their teeth in their mouths, O God; pull out the fangs of the lions, O LORD. 7Let them be rejected as water which is contaminated; let God shoot his arrows until the wicked are destroyed. 8Like the wax that melts, and drips before the fire, let them be destroyed: fire has fallen from heaven and they did not see; the light of truth has been given and they did not understand. 9Let their thorns be increased, and fear of wrath shake them violently. 10The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance: he shall wash his hands in the blood of the wicked, 11So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a God that judges in the earth. (LAM)

26 Psalms 58:1-11 1To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Miktam of David. 2Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods? Do you judge the sons of men uprightly? 3Nay, in your hearts you devise wrongs; your hands deal out violence on earth. 4The wicked go astray from the womb, they err from their birth, speaking lies. 5They have venom like the venom of a serpent, like the deaf adder that stops its ear, 6so that it does not hear the voice of charmers or of the cunning enchanter. 7O God, break the teeth in their mouths; tear out the fangs of the young lions, O LORD! 8Let them vanish like water that runs away; like grass let them be trodden down and wither. 9Let them be like the snail which dissolves into slime, like the untimely birth that never sees the sun. 10Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns, whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away! 11The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked. [ (Psalms 58:12) Men will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth." ] (RSV)

26 Psalms 58:1-11 1Psalm 58 For the director of music. To the tune of "Do Not Destroy." Of David. A miktam. Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge uprightly among men?

2No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth. 3Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies.

4Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears, 5that will not heed the tune of the charmer, however skillful the enchanter may be.

6Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; tear out, O LORD, the fangs of the lions! 7Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows be blunted.

8Like a slug melting away as it moves along, like a stillborn child, may they not see the sun.

9Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns -- whether they be green or dry -- the wicked will be swept away.

10The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

11Then men will say, "Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth."(NIV)

He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked;

11So that men shall say, 'Most assuredly there is a reward for the righteous.
Most assuredly there is a God who judges the earth.'(WEB)
