26 Psalms 12:1-8 1Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

3The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

4Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

5For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.

6The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

8The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.(KJV)

26 Psalms 12:1-8 1Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2They speak vanity every 1 with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a 2 fold heart do they speak.

6The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified 7 times.

7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

8The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.(KJV/NC)

26 Psalms 12:1-8 1Help, Jehovah; for the godly man ceaseth;

For the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor:

With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.

3Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips,

The tongue that speaketh great things;

4Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail;

Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

5Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy,

Now will I arise, saith Jehovah;

I will set him in the safety he panteth for.

6The words of Jehovah are pure words;

As silver tried in a furnace on the earth,

Purified seven times.

7Thou wilt keep them, O Jehovah,

Thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever.

8The wicked walk on every side,(ASV)

26 Psalms 12:1-8 1SAVE, O LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for faith hath disappeared from the earth. 2Men speak vanity, every one with his neighbour; with flattering lips, and with a double heart do they speak. 3The LORD shall destroy all flattering lips and tongues that speak proud things. 4For they have said, With our tongue will we prevail: our lips are our own; who is lord over us? 5Because of the oppression of the poor and the groans of the needy, now will I arise, says the LORD; and I will bring salvation openly. 6The words of the LORD are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on earth, they are purified seven times. 7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD; thou shalt preserve me and save me from this generation for ever. 8For the wicked walk everywhere with contemptible pride like the children of Edom. (LAM)

26 Psalms 12:1-8 1To the choirmaster: according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David. 2Help, LORD; for there is no longer any that is godly; for the faithful have vanished from among the sons of men. 3Every one utters lies to his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak. 4May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that makes great boasts, 5those who say, "With our tongue we will prevail, our lips are with us; who is our master?" 6"Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan, I will now arise," says the LORD; "I will place him in the safety for which he longs." 7The promises of the LORD are promises that are pure, silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times. 8Do thou, O LORD, protect us, guard us ever from this generation. [ (Psalms 12:9) On every side the wicked prowl, as vileness is exalted among the sons of men. ] (RSV)

26 Psalms 12:1-8 1Help, LORD, for the godly are no more;
the faithful have vanished from among men.

2Everyone lies to his neighbor;
their flattering lips speak with deception.

3May the LORD cut off all flattering lips
and every boastful tongue

4that says, "We will triumph with our tongues;
we own our lips -- who is our master?"

5"Because of the oppression of the weak
and the groaning of the needy,

I will now arise," says the LORD.
"I will protect them from those who malign them."

6And the words of the LORD are flawless,
like silver refined in a furnace of clay,
purified seven times.

7O LORD, you will keep us safe
and protect us from such people forever.

8The wicked freely strut about
when what is vile is honored among men.(NIV)
