21 Jonah 26 Psalms 10:1-18
26 Psalms 10:1-18
2The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. 3For the wicked boasteth of his hearts desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. 4The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. 5His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. 6He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. 7His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. 8He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor. 9He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net. 10He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones. 11He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it. 12Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble. 13Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it. 14Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless. 15Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none. 16The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. 17LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: 18To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.(KJV) 26 Psalms 10:1-18

Why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? 2In the pride of the wicked the poor is hotly pursued; Let them be taken in the devices that they have conceived. 3For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, And the covetous renounceth, yea, contemneth Jehovah. 4The wicked, in the pride of his countenance, saith, He will not require it. All his thoughts are, There is no God. 5His ways are firm at all times; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight: As for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them. 6He saith in his heart, I shall not be moved; To all generations I shall not be in adversity. 7His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression: Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity. 8He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; In the secret places doth he murder the innocent; His eyes are privily set against the helpless. 9He lurketh in secret as a lion in his covert; He lieth in wait to catch the poor: He doth catch the poor, when he draweth him in his net. 10He croucheth, he boweth down, And the helpless fall by his strong ones. 11He saith in his heart, God hath forgotten; He hideth his face; he will never see it. 12Arise, O Jehovah; O God, lift up thy hand: Forget not the poor. 13Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God, And say in his heart, Thou wilt not require it? 14Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: The helpless committeth himself unto thee; Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless. 15Break thou the arm of the wicked; And as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness till thou find none. 16Jehovah is King for ever and ever: The nations are perished out of his land. 17Jehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek: Thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear; 18To judge the fatherless and the oppressed,(ASV) 26 Psalms 10:1-18
12¶ Arise, O LORD; O my God, lift up thine hand; forget not the afflicted. 13Why does the wicked provoke God? He says in his heart, God does not seek vengeance. 14Thou hast seen it; for there is mischief and wrath, for thou beholdest that he hath surrendered himself unto thy hands; and the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless. 15Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man; seek out his wickedness till thou find none. 16The LORD is King for ever and ever; the Gentiles are perished out of his land. 17LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the poor; thine ear hath heard the preparation of their heart; 18Execute justice to the fatherless and to the afflicted, so that man may not be destroyed from the face of the earth. 26 Psalms 10:1-18
2In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak,
3He boasts of the cravings of his heart;
4In his pride the wicked does not seek him;
5His ways are always prosperous;
6He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me;
7His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats;
8He lies in wait near the villages;
9He lies in wait like a lion in cover;
10His victims are crushed, they collapse;
11He says to himself, "God has forgotten;
12Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God.
13Why does the wicked man revile God?
14But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; The victim commits himself to you;
15Break the arm of the wicked and evil man;
16The LORD is King for ever and ever;
17You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;
18defending the fatherless and the oppressed, 26 Psalms 10:1-18
