21 Jonah 2:1-10 1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fishs belly, 2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. 3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. 4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. 5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. 7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. 8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. 9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

21 Jonah 2:1-10 1Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the belly of the fish, 2saying, "I called to the LORD, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and thou didst hear my voice. 3For thou didst cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the flood was round about me; all thy waves and thy billows passed over me. 4Then I said, `I am cast out from thy presence; how shall I again look upon thy holy temple?' 5The waters closed in over me, the deep was round about me; weeds were wrapped about my head 6at the roots of the mountains. I went down to the land whose bars closed upon me for ever; yet thou didst bring up my life from the Pit, O LORD my God. 7When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; and my prayer came to thee, into thy holy temple. 8Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their true loyalty. 9But I with the voice of thanksgiving will sacrifice to thee; what I have vowed I will pay. 21 Jonah 2:1-10 1From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God. 2He said: "In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry. 3You hurled me into the deep, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all your waves and breakers swept over me. 4I said, `I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.' 5The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head. 6To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you brought my life up from the pit, O LORD my God. 7"When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, LORD, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple. 8"Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. 9But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the LORD."

'I called because of my affliction to Yahweh.
He answered me.

Out of the belly of Sheol I cried.
You heard my voice.

3For you threw me into the depths,
In the heart of the seas.

The flood was all around me.
All your waves and your billows passed over me.

4I said, 'I have been banished from your sight;
Yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'

5The waters surrounded me,
Even to the soul.

The deep was around me.
The weeds were wrapped around my head.

6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains.
The earth barred me in forever:
Yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Yahwehf my God.
