13 Isaiah 41:1-29
 1Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.
2Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
3He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.
4Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.
5The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.
6They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.
7So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.
8But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
9Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.
12Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
16Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
20That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
21Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
22Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
23Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
24Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.
25I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.
26Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.
27The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.
28For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.
29Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.(KJV)

13 Isaiah 41:1-29
 1KEEP silence, O you islands; and let the people renew their strength; let them come near; then let them speak; let them come near together to judgment.
2Who has stirred up the righteous one from the east, and hastened him on? The nations shall surrender before him, and kings shall be confounded. He gave them as the dust to his sword and as driven stubble to his bow.
3He shall pursue them, then make peace; and he shall not pass that way on foot.
4Who has prepared and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first and the last; I am he.
5The islands saw it, and were afraid; and the ends of the earth were afraid, and they drew near and came.
6They helped every one his neighbor; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.
7The carpenter encourages the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil, saying, It is ready for the soldering; and they fasten it with nails, that it should not be moved.
8But now, Israel, you are my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the descendants of Abraham my friend, whom I have strengthened.
9I have called you from the ends of the earth and from among the prophets, and said to you, You are my servant; I have chosen you, and have not rejected you;
10¶ Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I have strengthened you, and have also helped you, yea, I will also uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
11All those that reproach you shall be ashamed and confounded; they shall be as nothing; and those who strive with you shall perish.
12You shall seek them that strive with you, but you shall not find them; they that war against you shall be as if they were nothing.
13For I am the LORD your God, the strengthener of your right hand. I have said to you, Fear not; I am your helper.
14Fear not, O you helpless men of Jacob, O you remnant of Israel! I am your helper, says the LORD, and your Saviour, the Holy One of Israel.
15Behold, I have made you as a new threshing instrument having teeth; a thing which tears and crushes to pieces; you shall thresh the mountains and beat them small, and shall make the hills as chaff.
16You shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; and you shall rejoice in the LORD and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is dried with thirst, I the LORD will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18I will open rivers in the mountains and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness pools of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19I will plant in the wilderness the cedars, the acacia tree, the myrtle, and the olive tree; I will set in the desert the cypress and the pine and the box tree together;
20That they may see and know and consider and understand that the hand of the LORD has done this and the Holy One of Israel has created it.
21¶ Bring near your cause, says the LORD; bring near your counsels, says the King of Jacob.
22Let them come near and show us the things that are to come; show us the former things, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare to us the things that are to come.
23Show us the wonders that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; yea, do good, or do evil, that we may relate it and behold it together.
24Behold, you are nothing, and your works are corrupt; choosing you is an abomination.
25I have stirred up one from the north, and he shall come from the rising of the sun, and shall call on my name; and the princes shall come, and shall be trodden down like mortar, and as the potter treads clay.
26Who has declared it from the beginning, that we may know? And beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? Yea, there is none that shows, yea, there is none that declares, yea, there is none that hears your words.
27These things are the chief concern of Zion; behold, I will give to Jerusalem one that brings good tidings.
28For I beheld, and there was no man who could meditate about these things, that I might ask him, and that he might give me an answer.
29Behold, they are all nothing; their works are vanity; their images are wind and vanity.

13 Isaiah 41:1-29
 1Listen to me in silence, O coastlands; let the peoples renew their strength; let them approach, then let them speak; let us together draw near for judgment.
2Who stirred up one from the east whom victory meets at every step? He gives up nations before him, so that he tramples kings under foot; he makes them like dust with his sword, like driven stubble with his bow.
3He pursues them and passes on safely, by paths his feet have not trod.
4Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am He.
5The coastlands have seen and are afraid, the ends of the earth tremble; they have drawn near and come.
6Every one helps his neighbor, and says to his brother, "Take courage!"
7The craftsman encourages the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering, "It is good"; and they fasten it with nails so that it cannot be moved.
8But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend;
9you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, "You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off";
10fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
11Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.
12You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all.
13For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, "Fear not, I will help you."
14Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I will help you, says the LORD; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15Behold, I will make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff;
16You shall winnow them and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in the LORD; in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory.
17When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the LORD will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive; I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane and the pine together;
20that men may see and know, may consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it.
21Set forth your case, says the LORD; bring your proofs, says the King of Jacob.
22Let them bring them, and tell us what is to happen. Tell us the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, that we may know their outcome; or declare to us the things to come.
23Tell us what is to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; do good, or do harm, that we may be dismayed and terrified.
24Behold, you are nothing, and your work is nought; an abomination is he who chooses you.
25I stirred up one from the north, and he has come, from the rising of the sun, and he shall call on my name; he shall trample on rulers as on mortar, as the potter treads clay.
26Who declared it from the beginning, that we might know, and beforetime, that we might say, "He is right"? There was none who declared it, none who proclaimed, none who heard your words.
27I first have declared it to Zion, and I give to Jerusalem a herald of good tidings.
28But when I look there is no one; among these there is no counselor who, when I ask, gives an answer.
29Behold, they are all a delusion; their works are nothing; their molten images are empty wind.(RSV)

 1"Be silent before me, you islands! Let the nations renew their strength! Let them come forward and speak; let us meet together at the place of judgment.
2"Who has stirred up one from the east, calling him in righteousness to his service? He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown chaff with his bow.
3He pursues them and moves on unscathed, by a path his feet have not traveled before.
4Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD -- with the first of them and with the last -- I am he."
5The islands have seen it and fear; the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward;
6each helps the other and says to his brother, "Be strong!"
7The craftsman encourages the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer spurs on him who strikes the anvil. He says of the welding, "It is good." He nails down the idol so it will not topple.
8"But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend,
9I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, `You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
10So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11"All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.
12Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.
13For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
14Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you," declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15"See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff.
16You will winnow them, the wind will pick them up, and a gale will blow them away. But you will rejoice in the LORD and glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17"The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.
19I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together,
20so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.
21"Present your case," says the LORD. "Set forth your arguments," says Jacob's King.
22"Bring in your idols to tell us what is going to happen. Tell us what the former things were, so that we may consider them and know their final outcome. Or declare to us the things to come,
23tell us what the future holds, so we may know that you are gods. Do something, whether good or bad, so that we will be dismayed and filled with fear.
24But you are less than nothing and your works are utterly worthless; he who chooses you is detestable.
25"I have stirred up one from the north, and he comes -- one from the rising sun who calls on my name. He treads on rulers as if they were mortar, as if he were a potter treading the clay.
26Who told of this from the beginning, so we could know, or beforehand, so we could say, `He was right'? No one told of this, no one foretold it, no one heard any words from you.
27I was the first to tell Zion, `Look, here they are!' I gave to Jerusalem a messenger of good tidings.
28I look but there is no one -- no one among them to give counsel, no one to give answer when I ask them.
29See, they are all false! Their deeds amount to nothing; their images are but wind and confusion.(NIV)
13 Isaiah 41:1-29
 1Keep silence before me, islands; and let the peoples renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak; let us come near together to judgment.
2Who has raised up one from the east, whom he calls in righteousness to his foot? he gives nations before him, and makes him rule over kings; he gives them as the dust to his sword, as the driven stubble to his bow.
3He pursues them, and passes on safely, even by a way that he had not gone with his feet.
4Who has worked and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, Yahweh, the first, and with the last, I am he.
5The islands have seen, and fear; the ends of the earth tremble; they draw near, and come.
6They help everyone his neighbor; and every one says to his brother, Be of good courage.
7So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith, and he who smoothes with the hammer him who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fastens it with nails, that is should not be moved.
8But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend,
9you whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called from the corners of it, and said to you, You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you away;
10Don't you be afraid, for I am with you; don't be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
11Behold, all those who are incensed against you shall be disappointed and confounded: those who strive with you shall be as nothing, and shall perish.
12You shall seek them, and shall not find them, even those who contend with you: those who war against you shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nothing.
13For I, Yahweh your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, Don't be afraid; I will help you.
14Don't be afraid, you worm Jacob, and youP men of Israel; I will help you, says Yahweh, and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15Behold, I have made you to be a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shall make the hills as chaff.
16You shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; and you shall rejoice in Yahweh, you shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17The poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue fails for thirst; I, Yahweh, will answer them, I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18I will open rivers on the bare heights, and springs in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, the pine, and the box tree together:
20that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of Yahweh has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.
21Produce your cause, says Yahweh; bring forth your strong reasons, says the King of Jacob.
22Let them bring forth, and declare to us what shall happen: declare youP the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or show us things to come.
23Declare the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that youP are gods: yes, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and see it together.
24Behold, youP are of nothing, and your work is of nothing; an abomination is he who chooses you.
25I have raised up one from the north, and he has come; from the rising of the sun one who calls on my name: and he shall come on rulers as on mortar, and as the potter treads clay.
26Who has declared it from the beginning, that we may know? and before, that we may say, He is right? yes, there is none who declares, yes, there is none who shows, yes, there is none who hears your words.
27I am the first who says to Zion, Behold, behold them; and I will give to Jerusalem one who brings good news.
28When I look, there is no man: even among them there is no counselor who, when I ask of them, can answer a word.
29Behold, all of them, their works are vanity and nothing; their molten images are wind and confusion.(WEB)

13 Isaiah 41:1-29
 1KEEP silent, oh islands; and let the people renew their strength; let them come near; then let them speak; let them come near together to judgment.
2Who has stirred up the righteous one from the east, and hurried him on? The nations will surrender before him, and kings will be confounded. He gave them as the dust to his sword and as driven stubble to his bow.
3He will pursue them, then make peace; and he will not pass that way on foot.
4Who has prepared and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, Yahvah, the first and the last; I am he.
5The islands saw it, and were afraid; and the ends of the earth were afraid, and they drew near and came.
6Each one helped his neighbor; and each one said to his brother, Be of good courage.
7The carpenter encourages the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer, him who strikes the anvil, saying, It is ready for the soldering; and they fasten it with nails, that it should not be moved.
8But now, Israel, you are my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the descendants of Abraham my friend, whom I have strengthened.
9I have called you from the ends of the earth and from among the prophets, and said to you, You are my servant; I have chosen you, and have not rejected you;
10Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I have strengthened you, and have also helped you, yes, I will also uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
11All those who disgrace you will be ashamed and confounded; they will be as nothing; and those who strive with you will perish.
12You will seek those who strive with you, but you will not find them; those who war against you will be as if they were nothing.
13For I am Yahvah your God, the strengthener of your right hand. I have said to you, Do not fear; I am your helper.
14Do not fear, oh helpless men of Jacob, oh remnant of Israel. I am your helper, says Yahvah, and your Savior, the Holy One of Israel.
15Look, I have made you as a new threshing instrument having teeth; a thing which tears and crushes to pieces; you will thresh the mountains and beat them small, and will make the hills as chaff.
16You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away, and the whirlwind will scatter them; and you will rejoice in Yahvah and will glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is dried with thirst, I, Yahvah, will answer them, I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18I will open rivers in the mountains and fountains in the middle of the valleys; I will make the wilderness pools of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19I will plant in the wilderness the cedars, the acacia tree, the myrtle, and the olive tree; I will set in the desert the cypress and the pine and the box tree together;
20That they may see and know and consider and understand that the hand of Yahvah has done this and the Holy One of Israel has created it.
21Bring near your cause, says Yahvah; bring near your counsels, says the King of Jacob.
22Let them come near and show us the things that are to come; show us the former things, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare to us the things that are to come.
23Show us the wonders that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; yes, do good, or do evil, that we may relate it and see it together.
24Look, you are nothing, and your works are corrupt; choosing you is an abomination.
25I have stirred up one from the north, and he will come from the rising of the sun, and will call on my name; and the princes will come, and will be trampled down like mortar, and as the potter treads clay.
26Who has declared it from the beginning, that we may know? And before, that we may say, He is righteous? Yes, there is no one who shows, yes, there is no one who declares, yes, there is no one who hears your words.
27These things are the chief concern of Zion; look, I will give to Jerusalem one that brings good news.
28For I looked, but there was no man who could meditate about these things, that I might ask him, and that he might give me an answer.
29Look, they are all nothing; their works are vanity; their images are wind and vanity.
