Acts Replay 29 Proverbs of Solomon
44 Acts 2:1-47
  1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
12And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
13Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
22Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
25For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
26Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
27Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
28Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
29Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.(KJV)

44 Acts 2:1-47
  1And when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place.
2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3And there appeared unto them tongues parting asunder, like as of fire; and it sat upon each one of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.

9Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, in Judaea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia,
10in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and sojourners from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our tongues the mighty works of God.
12And they were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
13But others mocking said, They are filled with new wine.
14But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spake forth unto them, saying, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and give ear unto my words.

26Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; Moreover my flesh also shall dwell in hope:
27Because thou wilt not leave my soul unto Hades, Neither wilt thou give thy Holy One to see corruption.
28Thou madest known unto me the ways of life; Thou shalt make me full of gladness with thy countenance.
29Brethren, I may say unto you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us unto this day.
30Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins he would set one upon his throne;
31he foreseeing this spake of the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he left unto Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.

34For David ascended not into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.
36Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?
38And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.
40And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation.
41They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls.
42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and the prayers.
43And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45and they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all, according as any man had need.
46And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to them day by day those that were saved.(ASV)
44 Acts 2:1-47
  1AND when the day of Pentecost was fulfilled, while they were assembled together,
2Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3And there appeared to them tongues which were divided like flames of fire; and they rested upon each of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in various languages, according to whatever the Spirit gave them to speak.
5¶ Now there dwelt at Jerusalem devout men and Jews from every nation under heaven.
6And as the sound took place, all the people gathered together, and they were confused because every man heard them speak in his own language.
7And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these who speak Galileans?
8How is it that we hear every man in our own native language?
9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and those who dwell in Mesopotamia, Jews and Cappadocians and those from Pontus and Asia Minor,
10And those from the region of Phrygia and of Pamphylia and of Egypt, and of the regions of Lybia near Cyrene, and those who have come from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11And those from Crete, and Arabians, behold we hear them speak in our own tongues of the wonderful works of God.
12And they were all amazed and stunned, saying one to another, What does this mean?
13Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14¶ And afterwards Simon Peter stood up together with the eleven disciples, and lifted up his voice and said to them, Men of Jewish race, and all that dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and hearken to my words;
15For these men are not drunken as you suppose, for behold it is but the third hour of the day.
16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17It shall come to pass in the last days, said God, I will pour my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams;
18And upon my menservants and upon my maidservants will I pour out my Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy;
19And I will show wonders in heaven and signs on the earth: blood and fire and vapor of smoke:
20The sun shall be changed into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and fearful day of the Lord shall come.
21And it shall come to pass that whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
22Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man of God, who appeared among you by miracles and signs and wonders which God did by him among you, as you yourselves know,
23The very one who was chosen for this purpose from the very beginning of knowledge and will of God, you have delivered into the hands of wicked men, and you have crucified and murdered him;
24Whom God has raised up, having destroyed the pains of death, because it was not possible for Sheol to hold him.
25For David said concerning him, I foresaw my Lord always, for he is on my right hand, so that I should not be shaken;
26Therefore my heart is comforted and my glory is exalted; even my body shall rest in hope,
27Because you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption.
28You have revealed to me the way of life; you will fill me with joy with your presence.
29Now men and brethren, permit me to speak to you openly concerning Patriarch David, who is dead and buried and whose sepulchre is with us to this day;
30For he was a prophet, and he knew that God had sworn by an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up one to sit on his throne.
31So he foresaw and spoke concerning the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in the grave, neither did his body see corruption.
32This very Jesus, God has raised up, and we are all his witnesses.
33It is he who is exalted by the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, and has poured out gifts which you now see and hear.
34For David did not ascend into heaven, because he himself said, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this very Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37¶ When they heard these things, their hearts were touched and they said to Simon and the rest of the apostles, Our brethren, what shall we do?
38Then Simon said to them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of the Lord Jesus for the remission of sins, so that you may receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39For the promise was made to you and to your children, and for all of those who are far off, even as many as the very God shall call.
40And he testified to them with many other words and besought them, saying, Save yourselves from this sinful generation.
41And those men among them who readily accepted his word and believed were baptized, and about three thousand souls were added in that day.
42¶ And they continued steadfastly in the teaching, of the apostles and they took part in prayer and in the breaking of bread.
43And fear came upon every soul; and many miracles and wonders were done by the apostles in Jerusalem.
44And all believers were together and had all things in common;
45And those who had possessions sold them and divided to each man according to his need.
46And they went to the temple every day with one accord; and at home they broke bread and received food with joy and with a pure heart,
47Praising God and finding favor with all the people. And our Lord daily increased the congregation of the church.

44 Acts 2:1-47
  1When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
2And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.
6And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.
7And they were amazed and wondered, saying, "Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?
9Par'thians and Medes and E'lamites and residents of Mesopota'mia, Judea and Cappado'cia, Pontus and Asia,
10Phryg'ia and Pamphyl'ia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyre'ne, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11Cretans and Arabians, we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God."
12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, "What does this mean?"
13But others mocking said, "They are filled with new wine."
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them, "Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.
15For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day;
16but this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17`And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;
18yea, and on my menservants and my maidservants in those days I will pour out my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.
19And I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
20the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and manifest day.
21And it shall be that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'
22"Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs which God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know--
23this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
24But God raised him up, having loosed the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.
25For David says concerning him, `I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; moreover my flesh will dwell in hope.
27For thou wilt not abandon my soul to Hades, nor let thy Holy One see corruption.
28Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou wilt make me full of gladness with thy presence.'
29"Brethren, I may say to you confidently of the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants upon his throne,
31he foresaw and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.
32This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.
33Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you see and hear.
34For David did not ascend into the heavens; but he himself says, `The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand,
35till I make thy enemies a stool for thy feet.'
36Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified."
37Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?"
38And Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him."
40And he testified with many other words and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation."
41So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
42And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
43And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44And all who believed were together and had all things in common;
45and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need.
46And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts,
47praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.(RSV)
44 Acts 2:1-47
  1When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
2Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
4All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
5Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.
6When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.
7Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans?
8Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language?
9Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome
11(both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs -- we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!"
12Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, "What does this mean?"
13Some, however, made fun of them and said, "They have had too much wine."
14Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
15These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning!
16No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17"`In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
19I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
22"Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.
23This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.
24But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
25David said about him: "`I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
26Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope,
27because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
28You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.'
29"Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day.
30But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.
31Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay.
32God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact.
33Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.
34For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, "`The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand
35until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."'
36"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
37When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"
38Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off -- for all whom the Lord our God will call."
40With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation."
41Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
42They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
43Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
44All the believers were together and had everything in common.
45Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.
46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.(NIV)
44 Acts 2:1-47
  1Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.
4They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.
6When this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.
7They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, 'Behold, aren't all these who speak Galileans?
8How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?
9Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,
10Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!'
12They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, 'What does this mean?'
13Others, mocking, said, 'They are filled with new wine.'
14But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, 'YouP men of Judea, and all youP who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15For these aren't drunken, as youP suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.
16But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
17'It will be in the last days, says God, That I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
18Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.
19I will show wonders in the sky above, And signs on the earth beneath; Blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.
20The sun will be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21It will be, that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
22'Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him in the midst of you, even as youP yourselves know,
23him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, youP have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;
24whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
25For David says concerning him, 'I saw the Lord always before my face, For he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
26Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope;
27Because you will not leave my soul in Hades, Neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
28You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.'
29'Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
31he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was his soul left in Hades, nor did his flesh see decay.
32This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.
33Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which youP now see and hear.
34For David didn't ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, 'The Lord said to my Lord, 'Sit by my right hand,
35Until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.''
36'Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom youP crucified.'
37Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brothers, what shall we do?'
38Peter said to them, 'RepentP , and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and youP will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.'
40With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, 'Save yourselves from this crooked generation!'
41Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
42They continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
43Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44All who believed were together, and had all things in common.
45They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.
46Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.(WEB)

37Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the emissaries, 'Brothers, what shall we do?'
38Peter said to them, 'Repent, and be immersed, every one of you, in the name of Yeshua the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

44 Acts 2:1-47
  1AND when the day of Pentecost was fulfilled, while they were assembled together,
2Suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3And there appeared to them tongues which were divided like flames of fire; and they rested on each of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in various languages, according to whatever the Spirit gave them to speak.
5Now there lived at Jerusalem devout men and Jews from every nation under heaven.
6And as the sound took place, all the people gathered together, and they were confused because every man heard them speak in his own language.
7And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying to each other, Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?
8How is it that we hear every man in our own native language?
9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and those who live in Mesopotamia, Jews and Cappadocians and those from Pontus and Asia Minor,
10And those from the region of Phrygia and of Pamphylia and of Egypt, and of the regions of Lybia near Cyrene, and those who have come from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11And those from Crete, and Arabians, look we hear them speak in our own tongues of the wonderful works of God.
12And they were all amazed and stunned, saying to each other, What does this mean?
13Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14And afterwards Simon Peter stood up together with the 11 disciples, and lifted up his voice and said to them, Men of Jewish race, and all that live at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words;
15For these men are not drunk as you suppose, for look it is but the 3rd hour of the day.
16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17It will come to pass in the last days, said God, I will pour my spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy and your young men will see visions and your old men will dream dreams;
18And on my male servants and on my female servants I will pour out my Spirit in those days; and they will prophesy;
19And I will show wonders in heaven and signs on the earth: blood and fire and vapor of smoke:
20The sun will be changed into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and fearful day of the Lord will come.
21And it will come to pass that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
22Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man of God, who appeared among you by miracles and signs and wonders which God did by him among you, as you yourselves know,
23The very one who was chosen for this purpose from the very beginning by the knowledge and will of God, you have delivered into the hands of wicked men, and you have crucified and murdered him;
24Whom God has raised up, having destroyed the pains of death, because it was not possible for Sheol to hold him.
25For David said concerning him, I foresaw my Lord always, for he is on my right hand, so that I should not be shaken;
26Therefore, my heart is comforted and my glory is exalted; even my body will rest in hope,
27Because you will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will you permit your Holy One to see corruption.
28You have revealed to me the way of life; you will fill me with joy with your presence.
29Now men and brothers, permit me to speak to you openly concerning Patriarch David, who is dead and buried and whose sepulcher is with us to this day;
30For he was a prophet, and he knew that God had sworn by an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up one to sit on his throne.
31So he foresaw and spoke concerning the resurrection of Messiah, that his soul was not left in the grave, nor did his body see corruption.
32This very Jesus, God has raised up, and we are all his witnesses.
33It is he who is exalted by the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, and has poured out gifts which you now see and hear.
34For David did not ascend into heaven, because he himself said, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand,
35Until I make your foes your footstool.
36Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this very Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Messiah.
37When they heard these things, their hearts were touched and they said to Simon and the rest of the apostles, Our brothers, what will we do?
38Then Simon said to them, Repent and be baptized, each one of you in the name of the Lord Jesus for the remission of sins, so that you may receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39For the promise was made to you and to your children, and for all of those who are far off, even as many as the very God will call.
40And he testified to them with many other words and begged them, saying, Save yourselves from this sinful generation.
41And those men among them, who readily accepted his word and believed, were baptized, and about 3,000 souls were added in that day.
42And they continued steadfastly in the teaching, of the apostles and they took part in prayer and in the breaking of bread.
