40 John 15:1-27 ¹I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. ²Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. ³Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. ⁴Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ⁵I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. ⁶If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. ⁸Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. ⁹As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. ¹⁰If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Fathers commandments, and abide in his love. ¹¹These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. ¹²This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. ¹³Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ¹⁴Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. ¹⁵Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. ¹⁶Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. ¹⁷These things I command you, that ye love one another. ¹⁸If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. ¹⁹If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. ²⁰Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. ²¹But all these things will they do unto you for my names sake, because they know not him that sent me. ²²If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. ²³He that hateth me hateth my Father also. ²⁴If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. ²⁵But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. ²⁶But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: ²⁷And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.(KJV)

40 John 15:1-27 ¹I AM the true vine, and my Father is the laborer. ²Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he cuts off; and the one which bears fruit, he prunes so that it may bring forth more fruit. ³You have already been pruned because of the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴Remain with me and I with you. Just as a branch cannot give fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, even so you cannot unless you remain with me. ⁵I am the vine, you are the branches. He who remains with me, and I with him, will bear abundant fruit; for without me you can do nothing. ⁶Unless a man remains with me, he will be cast outside like a branch which is withered, which they pick up and throw into the fire to be burned. ⁷If you remain with me, and my words remain with you, whatever you ask shall be done for you. ⁸In this the Father will be glorified, that you bear abundant fruit and be my disciples.

⁹¶ Just as my Father has loved me, I also have loved you; abide in my love. ¹⁰If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. ¹¹I have spoken these things to you that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be full. ¹²This is my commandment: That you love one another just as I have loved you. ¹³There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for the sake of his friends. ¹⁴You are my friends if you do everything that I command you. ¹⁵Henceforth I will not call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master does; but I have always called you my friends, because everything that I heard from my Father I have made known to you. ¹⁶You did not choose me, but I chose you, and I have appointed you, that you also should go and produce fruit and that your fruit might remain, so that whatever you ask my Father in my name, he will give it to you. ¹⁷I command these things to you so that you may love one another. ¹⁸If the world hates you, know well that it has hated me before you. ¹⁹If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but you are not of the world for I have chosen you out of the world; this is why the world hates you. ²⁰Remember the word which I said to you, that no servant is greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word, they will also keep yours. ²¹But they will do all these things to you for the sake of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. ²²If I had not come and spoken to them, they would be without sin; but now they have no excuse for their sins. ²³He who hates me hates my Father also. ²⁴If I had not done works before their eyes, such as no other man has ever done, they would be without sin; but now they have seen and hated me and also my Father, ²⁵So that the word which is written in their law may be fulfilled, They hated me for no reason. ²⁶But when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from my Father, the Spirit of truth which proceeds from my Father, he will testify concerning me. ²⁷And you also will testify because you have been with me from the beginning. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. ⁵I am the vine, you are the branches. 40 John 15:1-27 ¹"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. ²He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. ³You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. ⁴Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

⁵"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. ⁷If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. ⁸This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

⁹"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. ¹⁰If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. ¹¹I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. ¹²My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. ¹³Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. ¹⁴You are my friends if you do what I command. ¹⁵I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. ¹⁶You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit -- fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. ¹⁷This is my command: Love each other.

¹⁸"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. ¹⁹If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. ²⁰Remember the words I spoke to you: `No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. <sup>21</sup>They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. <sup>22</sup>If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. <sup>23</sup>He who hates me hates my Father as well. <sup>24</sup>If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. <sup>25</sup>But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: `They hated me without reason.'

40 John 15:1-27 ¹'I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. ²Every branch in me that doesn't bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. ³You_P are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can't bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you_P , unless you_P remain in me. ⁵I am the vine. You_P are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you_P can do nothing. ⁶If a man doesn't remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷If you_P remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you_P desire, and it will be done for you.

⁸'In this is my Father glorified, that you_P bear much fruit; and so you_P will be my disciples. ⁹Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain_P in my love. ¹⁰If you_P keep my commandments, you_P will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and remain in his love. ¹¹I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.

¹²'This is my commandment, that you_P love one another, even as I have loved you. ¹³Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. ¹⁴You_P are my friends, if you_P do whatever I command you. ¹⁵No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn't know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you. ¹⁶You_P didn't choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you_P should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you_P will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

¹⁷'I command these things to you, that you_P may love one another. ¹⁸If the world hates you, you_P know that it has hated me before it hated you. ¹⁹If you_P were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you_P are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. ²⁰Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his lord.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also. ²¹But all these things will they do to you for my name's sake, because they don't know him who sent me. ²²If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. ²³He who hates me, hates my Father also. ²⁴If I hadn't done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn't have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father. ²⁵But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, 'They hated me without a cause.'
