29 Proverbs of Solomon 8:1-36 1Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? 2She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. 3She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. 5O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 6Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. 7For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. 9They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge. 10Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. 11For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. 12I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 13The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. 14Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. 15By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. 16By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. 17I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. 18Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. 19My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. 20I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: 21That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. 22The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. 24When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: 26While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 27When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: 28When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: 29When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: 30Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; 31Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. 32Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. 33Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 34Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. 36But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.(KJV)

29 Proverbs of Solomon 8:1-36 1Doth not wisdom cry,

And understanding put forth her voice?

2On the top of high places by the way,

Where the paths meet, she standeth;

3Beside the gates, at the entry of the city,

At the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud:

4Unto you, O men, I call;

And my voice is to the sons of men.

5O ye simple, understand prudence;

And, ye fools, be of an understanding heart.

6Hear, for I will speak excellent things;

And the opening of my lips shall be right things.

7For my mouth shall utter truth;

And wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness;

There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.

9They are all plain to him that understandeth,

And right to them that find knowledge.

10Receive my instruction, and not silver;

And knowledge rather than choice gold.

11For wisdom is better than rubies;

And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared unto it.

12I wisdom have made prudence my dwelling,

And find out knowledge and discretion.

13The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil:

Pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,

And the perverse mouth, do I hate.

14Counsel is mine, and sound knowledge:

I am understanding; I have might.

15By me kings reign,

And princes decree justice.

16By me princes rule,

And nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

17I love them that love me;

And those that seek me diligently shall find me.

18Riches and honor are with me;

Yea, durable wealth and righteousness.

19My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold;

And my revenue than choice silver.

20I walk in the way of righteousness,

In the midst of the paths of justice;

21That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance,

And that I may fill their treasuries.

22Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way,

Before his works of old.

23I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning,

Before the earth was.

24When there were no depths, I was brought forth,

When there were no fountains abounding with water.

25Before the mountains were settled,

Before the hills was I brought forth;

26While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields,

Nor the beginning of the dust of the world.

27When he established the heavens, I was there:

When he set a circle upon the face of the deep,

28When he made firm the skies above,

When the fountains of the deep became strong,

29When he gave to the sea its bound,

That the waters should not transgress his commandment,

When he marked out the foundations of the earth;

30Then I was by him, as a master workman;

And I was daily his delight,

Rejoicing always before him,

31Rejoicing in his habitable earth;

And my delight was with the sons of men.

32Now therefore, my sons, hearken unto me;

For blessed are they that keep my ways.

33Hear instruction, and be wise,

And refuse it not.

34Blessed is the man that heareth me,

Watching daily at my gates,

Waiting at the posts of my doors.

35For whoso findeth me findeth life,

And shall obtain favor of Jehovah.

36But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul:(ASV)

29 Proverbs of Solomon 8:1-36 1THEREFORE preach wisdom, and understanding will answer you. 2For wisdom is on the top of high places, she stands between the ways and by the paths. 3She cries at the gates, at the entrance of the city; she cries aloud, saying, 4Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of men, 5So that the simple ones may understand prudence and the fools understand in their heart. 6Hear, for I will speak truth; and the opening of my mouth shall bring forth uprightness. 7For my mouth shall speak truth, and lying lips are an abomination before me. 8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing perverse or deceptive in them. 9They are all plain to him who understands them, and right to those who are willing to find knowledge. 10Receive discipline and not silver; and choose for yourself knowledge rather than fine gold. 11For wisdom is much better than fine gold; yea, she is better than precious stones, and nothing can be compared to her.

12¶ I wisdom have created prudence, and I posses knowledge and reason. 13Reverence of the LORD despises evil; pride, arrogance, evil ways, and perverse speech do I hate. 14counsel and sound doctrine are mine; mine is understanding and might. 15By me kings reign and princes decree justice. 16By me princes and nobles rule, even all the righteous judges of the earth. 17I love those who love me; and those who seek me shall find me. 18Riches and honor are mine; yea, enduring riches and righteousness. 19My fruit is better than fine gold, and my ingathering than choice silver. 20I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, 21That I may cause those that love me to have hope; and I will fill their treasuries.

22¶ The LORD created me as the first of his creations, before all of his works. 23I was established from everlasting, from the beginning, before he made the earth. 24When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25Before the mountains were settled, before the hills were formed was I conceived; 26While as yet he had not made the earth nor the valleys nor the best soil of the world. 27When he established the heavens, I was there; when he set a circle upon the face of the deep; 28When he made firm the clouds above; when he strengthened the fountains of the deep; 29When he gave to the sea its bounds, that the waters should not transgress his commandment; when he laid down the foundations of the earth: 30I together with him was establishing them; and daily I was his delight, rejoicing always before him, 31Rejoicing in his habitable earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

32¶ Now therefore hearken to me, O you children; for blessed is he who keeps my ways. 33Hear instruction and be wise and do not go astray. 34Blessed is the man who heeds me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my threshold. 35For my objectives are the issues of life, they proclaim the will of the LORD. 36Those who sin against me wrong their own soul; all those who hate me love death. 29 Proverbs of Solomon 8:1-36 1Does not wisdom call, does not understanding raise her voice? 2On the heights beside the way, in the paths she takes her stand; 3beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud: 4"To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the sons of men. 5O simple ones, learn prudence; O foolish men, pay attention. 6Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right; 7for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them. 9They are all straight to him who understands and right to those who find knowledge. 10Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold; 11for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her. 12I, wisdom, dwell in prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion. 13The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. 14I have counsel and sound wisdom, I have insight, I have strength. 15By me kings reign, and rulers decree what is just; 16by me princes rule, and nobles govern the earth. 17I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. 18Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and prosperity. 19My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver. 20I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice, 21endowing with wealth those who love me, and filling their treasuries. 22The LORD created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old. 23Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. 24When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. 25Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth; 26before he had made the earth with its fields, or the first of the dust of the world. 27When he established the heavens, I was there, when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, 29when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, 30then I was beside him, like a master workman; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, 31rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the sons of men. 32And now, my sons, listen to me: happy are those who keep my ways. 33Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. 34Happy is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. 35For he who finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD; 36but he who misses me injures himself; all who hate me love death." 29 Proverbs of Solomon 8:1-36 1Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? 2On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; 3beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud: 4"To you, O men, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. 5You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding. 6Listen, for I have worthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. 7My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness. 8All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. 9To the discerning all of them are right; they are faultless to those who have knowledge. 10Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, 11for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. 12"I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion. 13To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. 14Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have understanding and power. 15By me kings reign and rulers make laws that are just; 16by me princes govern, and all nobles who rule on earth. 17I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. 18With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. 19My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. 20I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, 21bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full. 22"The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; 23I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began. 24When there were no oceans, I was given birth, when there were no springs abounding with water; 25before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth, 26before he made the earth or its fields or any of the dust of the world. 27I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, 28when he established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep, 29when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth. 30Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, 31rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind. 32"Now then, my sons, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. 33Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it. 34Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. 35For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD. 36But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death."(NIV)
