27 Job 40:1-24 1Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said, 2Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

3Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 4Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. 5Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

6Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. 8Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? 9Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? 10Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. 11Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. 12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. 13Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret. 14Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. 16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. 17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. 18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. 19He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. 20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. 21He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. 22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about. 23Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. 24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.(KJV)

51 time have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, 2 times; but I will proceed no further.

11Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every 1 that is proud, and abase him. 12Look on every 1 that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.(KJV/NC)

27 Job 40:1-24 1Moreover Jehovah answered Job, and said,

2Shall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty?

He that argueth with God, let him answer it.

3Then Job answered Jehovah, and said,

4Behold, I am of small account; What shall I answer thee?

I lay my hand upon my mouth.

5Once have I spoken, and I will not answer;

Yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.

6Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

7Gird up thy loins now like a man:

I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

8Wilt thou even annul my judgment?

Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?

9Or hast thou an arm like God?

And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

10Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity;

And array thyself with honor and majesty.

11Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger;

And look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.

12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low;

And tread down the wicked where they stand.

13Hide them in the dust together;

Bind their faces in the hidden place.

14Then will I also confess of thee

That thine own right hand can save thee.

15Behold now, behemoth, which I made as well as thee;

He eateth grass as an ox.

16Lo now, his strength is in his loins,

And his force is in the muscles of his belly.

17He moveth his tail like a cedar:

The sinews of his thighs are knit together.

18His bones are as tubes of brass;

His limbs are like bars of iron.

19He is the chief of the ways of God:

He only that made him giveth him his sword.

20Surely the mountains bring him forth food,

Where all the beasts of the field do play.

21He lieth under the lotus-trees,

In the covert of the reed, and the fen.

22The lotus-trees cover him with their shade;

The willows of the brook compass him about.

23Behold, if a river overflow, he trembleth not;

He is confident, though a Jordan swell even to his mouth.

24Shall any take him when he is on the watch,(ASV)

27 Job 40:1-24 1MOREOVER the LORD answered Job, and said, 2Many are the counsels of God; he who reproves God must answer for it. 3Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 4Behold, I am unworthy; what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth. 5Once I have spoken; but I will not answer; yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.

6¶ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 7Gird up your loins now like a man; I will question you, and you shall declare to me. 8Will you disannul my judgment? Will you even condemn me, that you may be justified? 9Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like him? 10Deck yourself now with majesty and excellency; and array yourself with glory and beauty. 11Cast away the rage of your wrath; and look upon everyone that is proud, and abase him; 12And cast the sinners into their place. 13Bury them in the earth together; cover their faces with fine dust. 14Then will I also give you credit when your own right hand has saved you.

15¶ Behold now the hippopotamus which I made for you; he eats grass like an ox. 16Lo, his strength is in his loins, and his tail stands erect like a cedar tree. 17The sinews of his thighs bulge out. 18His bones are strong as pieces of brass; yea, they are like bars of iron. 19He is the chief among God's creations; for he made him powerful to fight. 20He roams about the mountains, and all the wild beasts of the field lie down under his protection. 21He lurks in the covert of reeds, he couches as a lion. 22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook encircle him. 23Behold, if he plunges into the river, he is not afraid; he is confident, though the Jordan reaches to his mouth. 24Can one take him with a hook, or catch him with a net? Can one snare him in a trap, or can one bind his tongue with a rope? (LAM)

27 Job 40:1-24 1And the LORD said to Job: 2"Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it." 3Then Job answered the LORD: 4"Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer thee? I lay my hand on my mouth. 5I have spoken once, and I will not answer; twice, but I will proceed no further." 6Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind: 7"Gird up your loins like a man; I will question you, and you declare to me. 8Will you even put me in the wrong? Will you condemn me that you may be justified? 9Have you an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his? 10"Deck yourself with majesty and dignity; clothe yourself with glory and splendor. 11Pour forth the overflowings of your anger, and look on every one that is proud, and abase him. 12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked where they stand. 13Hide them all in the dust together; bind their faces in the world below. 14Then will I also acknowledge to you, that your own right hand can give you victory. 15"Behold, Be'hemoth, which I made as I made you; he eats grass like an ox. 16Behold, his strength in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly. 17He makes his tail stiff like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together. 18His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron. 19"He is the first of the works of God; let him who made him bring near his sword! 20For the mountains yield food for him where all the wild beasts play. 21Under the lotus plants he lies, in the covert of the reeds and in the marsh. 22For his shade the lotus trees cover him; the willows of the brook surround him. 23Behold, if the river is turbulent he is not frightened; he is confident though Jordan rushes against his mouth. 24Can one take him with hooks, or pierce his nose with a snare? (RSV)

27 Job 40:1-24 1The LORD said to Job: 2"Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!"

3Then Job answered the LORD: 4"I am unworthy -- how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth. 5I spoke once, but I have no answer -- twice, but I will say no more."

6Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm: 7"Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. 8"Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself? 9Do you have an arm like God's, and can your voice thunder like his? 10Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty. 11Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at every proud man and bring him low, 12look at every proud man and humble him, crush the wicked where they stand. 13Bury them all in the dust together; shroud their faces in the grave. 14Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you. 15"Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. 16What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! 17His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. 18His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. 19He ranks first among the works of God, yet his Maker can approach him with his sword. 20The hills bring him their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby. 21Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh. 22The lotuses conceal him in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround him. 23When the river rages, he is not alarmed; he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth. 24Can anyone capture him by the eyes, or trap him and pierce his nose?(NIV)
