26 Psalms 38:1-22 1O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

2For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

3There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

4For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

5My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

6I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

7For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

8I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

9Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

10My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

11My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

12They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

13But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

14Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

15For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

16For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

17For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

18For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

19But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

20They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

21Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.

22Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.(KJV)

26 Psalms 38:1-22 1O Jehovah, rebuke me not in thy wrath;

Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

2For thine arrows stick fast in me,

And thy hand presseth me sore.

3There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine indignation;

Neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin.

4For mine iniquities are gone over my head:

As a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

5My wounds are loathsome and corrupt,

Because of my foolishness.

6I am pained and bowed down greatly;

I go mourning all the day long.

7For my loins are filled with burning;

And there is no soundness in my flesh.

8I am faint and sore bruised:

I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

9Lord, all my desire is before thee;

And my groaning is not hid from thee.

10My heart throbbeth, my strength faileth me:

As for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

11My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my plague;

And my kinsmen stand afar off.

12They also that seek after my life lay snares for me;

And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things,

And meditate deceits all the day long.

13But I, as a deaf man, hear not;

And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

14Yea, I am as a man that heareth not,

And in whose mouth are no reproofs.

15For in thee, O Jehovah, do I hope:

Thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.

16For I said, Lest they rejoice over me:

When my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

17For I am ready to fall,

And my sorrow is continually before me.

18For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

19But mine enemies are lively, and are strong;

And they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

20They also that render evil for good

Are adversaries unto me, because I follow the thing that is good.

21Forsake me not, O Jehovah:

O my God, be not far from me.

22Make haste to help me,(ASV)

26 Psalms 38:1-22 1O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath; neither chasten me in the heat of thine anger. 2For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand rests heavily upon me. 3There is no peace in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sins. 4For mine iniquities are gone over my head; as a great burden they are too heavy for me. 5My wounds are loathsome and corrupt because of my foolishness. 6I am greatly troubled; all the day long I walk sadly. 7My loins are filled with trembling, and there is no peace in my body. 8I am feeble and miserable; I have groaned because of the despair of my heart. 9O LORD, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hidden from thee. 10My heart is broken, my strength hath failed me; as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. 11My neighbors and my friends stood aside from my grief; and my kinsmen stood off.

12¶ They also that seek after my life and wish me evil lay hold on me and speak mischievous things and imagine deceits all the day long. 13But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that opens not his mouth. 14Thus I was as a man that hears not, and in whose mouth is no reproof. 15For in thee, O LORD, do I hope; thou wilt answer me, O LORD my God. 16Because I said, Hear me, lest they rejoice over me; they scoff at me when my feet waver. 17I am prepared to suffer, and my sorrow is continually with me. 18I will declare mine iniquity to thee; I will purify myself of my sins. 19But mine enemies are strong and alert; and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. 20They reward me evil for good; they reproach me because I seek after good things. 21Forsake me not, O LORD; O my God, be not far from me. 22Abide to help me and save me. 26 Psalms 38:1-22 1A Psalm of David, for the memorial offering. 2O LORD, rebuke me not in thy anger, nor chasten me in thy wrath! 3For thy arrows have sunk into me, and thy hand has come down on me. 4There is no soundness in my flesh because of thy indignation; there is no health in my bones because of my sin. 5For my iniquities have gone over my head; they weigh like a burden too heavy for me. 6My wounds grow foul and fester because of my foolishness, 7I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; all the day I go about mourning. 8For my loins are filled with burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh. 9I am utterly spent and crushed; I groan because of the tumult of my heart. 10Lord, all my longing is known to thee, my sighing is not hidden from thee. 11My heart throbs, my strength fails me; and the light of my eyes--it also has gone from me. 12My friends and companions stand aloof from my plague, and my kinsmen stand afar off. 13Those who seek my life lay their snares, those who seek my hurt speak of ruin, and meditate treachery all the day long. 14But I am like a deaf man, I do not hear, like a dumb man who does not open his mouth. 15Yea, I am like a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth are no rebukes. 16But for thee, O LORD, do I wait; it is thou, O LORD my God, who wilt answer. 17For I pray, "Only let them not rejoice over me, who boast against me when my foot slips!" 18For I am ready to fall, and my pain is ever with me. 19I confess my iniquity, I am sorry for my sin. 20Those who are my foes without cause are mighty, and many are those who hate me wrongfully. 21Those who render me evil for good are my adversaries because I follow after good. 22Do not forsake me, O LORD! O my God, be not far from me! [ (Psalms 38:23) Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation! ] (RSV)

26 Psalms 38:1-22 1O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger
or discipline me in your wrath.

2For your arrows have pierced me,
and your hand has come down upon me.

3Because of your wrath there is no health in my body;
my bones have no soundness because of my sin.

4My guilt has overwhelmed me
like a burden too heavy to bear.

5My wounds fester and are loathsome
because of my sinful folly.

6I am bowed down and brought very low;
all day long I go about mourning.

7My back is filled with searing pain;
there is no health in my body.

8I am feeble and utterly crushed;
I groan in anguish of heart.

9All my longings lie open before you, O Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you.

10My heart pounds, my strength fails me;
even the light has gone from my eyes.

11My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds;
my neighbors stay far away.

12Those who seek my life set their traps,
those who would harm me talk of my ruin;
all day long they plot deception.

13I am like a deaf man, who cannot hear,
like a mute, who cannot open his mouth;

14I have become like a man who does not hear,
whose mouth can offer no reply.

15I wait for you, O LORD;
you will answer, O Lord my God.

16For I said, "Do not let them gloat
or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips."

17For I am about to fall,
and my pain is ever with me.

18I confess my iniquity;
I am troubled by my sin.

19Many are those who are my vigorous enemies;
those who hate me without reason are numerous.

20Those who repay my good with evil
slander me when I pursue what is good.

21O LORD, do not forsake me;
be not far from me, O my God.

22Come quickly to help me,
O Lord my Savior.(NIV)

26 Psalms 38:1-22 1Yahwehf , don't rebuke me in your wrath,

Your hand presses hard on me.

As a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

In whose mouth are no reproofs.

Or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips.'
