26 Psalms 37:1-40 1Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

10For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

11But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

13The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

15Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

16A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.

18The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

19They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

21The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

22For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

25I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

26He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

27Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

28For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

30The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

31The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

32The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

33The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

34Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

35I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

36Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

38But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

39But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

40And the LORD shall help them and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.(KJV)

26 Psalms 37:1-40 1Fret not thyself because of evil-doers,

Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.

2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,

And wither as the green herb.

3Trust in Jehovah, and do good;

Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.

4Delight thyself also in Jehovah;

And he will give thee the desires of thy heart.

5Commit thy way unto Jehovah;

Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.

6And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light,

And thy justice as the noon-day.

7Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him:

Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,

Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:

Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.

9For evil-doers shall be cut off;

But those that wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the land.

10For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be:

Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and he shall not be.

11But the meek shall inherit the land,

And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12The wicked plotteth against the just,

And gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

13The Lord will laugh at him;

For he seeth that his day is coming.

14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow,

To cast down the poor and needy,

To slay such as are upright in the way.

15Their sword shall enter into their own heart,

And their bows shall be broken.

16Better is a little that the righteous hath

Than the abundance of many wicked.

17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken;

But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous.

18Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect;

And their inheritance shall be for ever.

19They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil;

And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20But the wicked shall perish,

And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs:

They shall consume;

In smoke shall they consume away.

21The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again;

But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.

22For such as are blessed of him shall inherit the land;

And they that are cursed of him shall be cut off.

23A man's goings are established of Jehovah;

And he delighteth in his way.

24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;

For Jehovah upholdeth him with his hand.

25I have been young, and now am old;

Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,

Nor his seed begging bread.

26All the day long he dealeth graciously, and lendeth;

And his seed is blessed.

27Depart from evil, and do good;

And dwell for evermore.

28For Jehovah loveth justice,

And forsaketh not his saints;

They are preserved for ever:

But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29The righteous shall inherit the land,

And dwell therein for ever.

30The mouth of the righteous talketh of wisdom,

And his tongue speaketh justice.

31The law of his God is in his heart;

None of his steps shall slide.

32The wicked watcheth the righteous,

And seeketh to slay him.

33Jehovah will not leave him in his hand,

Nor condemn him when he is judged.

34Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way,

And he will exalt thee to inherit the land:

When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

35I have seen the wicked in great power,

And spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.

36But one passed by, and, lo, he was not:

Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright;

For there is a happy end to the man of peace.

38As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together;

The end of the wicked shall be cut off.

39But the salvation of the righteous is of Jehovah;

He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.

40And Jehovah helpeth them, and rescueth them;(ASV)

26 Psalms 37:1-40 1FRET not because of evildoers, neither be envious of the workers of iniquity, 2For they shall soon wither like grass, and fade away as the green herbs. 3Trust in God, and do good; dwell in the land, and seek after faithfulness. 4Trust in the LORD; and he shall give you the desires of your heart. 5Commit your way to the LORD; trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass. 6He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.

7¶ Seek the LORD, and pray before him; envy not the man who does evil, and prospers in his way. 8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; fret not yourself in any wise to do evil. 9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those who trust in the LORD shall inherit the earth. 10For yet a little while, and the wicked shall be no more: yea, you shall look for his place, and you shall not find it. 11But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. 13The LORD shall laugh at him; for he sees that his day is coming. 14The wicked have drawn out the sword and have bent their bow, to slay the poor and needy, and those who are upright in their way. 15Their swords shall enter into their own hearts, and their bows shall be broken. 16A little that a righteous man has is better than the great riches of the wicked. 17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; but the LORD upholds the righteous. 18The LORD knows the days of the upright; and their inheritance shall be for ever. 19They shall not be ashamed in the evil time; and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. 20For the wicked shall perish, and the rich who are enemies of the LORD shall be consumed; they shall vanish like smoke.

21¶ The wicked borrows, and pays not again; but the righteous shows mercy, and gives. 22For the blessed of the LORD shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be wiped out. 23The steps of a good man are established by the LORD; he sets his course. 24Though he fall, he shall not be hurt; for the LORD upholds him with his hand. 25I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. 26But he is ever merciful and lends; and his offspring is blessed. 27Depart from evil, and do good; and rest for evermore. 28For the LORD loves justice, and he forsakes not his righteous ones; he keeps them for ever; but the seed of the wicked, he destroys. 29The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. 30The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice. 31The law of God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. 32The wicked lies in wait for the righteous, and seeks to slay him. 33The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

34¶ Trust in the LORD and keep his way, and he shall exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it. 35For I have seen the wicked boasting and spreading himself like stout forest trees; 36Yet when I passed by, lo, he was not; yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. 37Uphold the perfect and select the upright; for there is a good end for peaceful men. 38But sinners shall be destroyed together; yea, the end of the wicked shall be destruction. 39But the Saviour of the righteous is the LORD; he will help them in time of trouble. 40And the LORD shall help them and deliver them; he shall deliver them from the wicked and save them, because they trust in him. 26 Psalms 37:1-40 1A Psalm of David. 2Fret not yourself because of the wicked, be not envious of wrongdoers! 3For they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb. 4Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security. 5Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 6Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. 7He will bring forth your vindication as the light, and your right as the noonday. 8Be still before the LORD, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! 9Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. 10For the wicked shall be cut off; but those who wait for the LORD shall possess the land. 11Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look well at his place, he will not be there. 12But the meek shall possess the land, and delight themselves in abundant prosperity. 13The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him; 14but the LORD laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming. 15The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows, to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those who walk uprightly; 16their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. 17Better is a little that the righteous has than the abundance of many wicked. 18For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; but the LORD upholds the righteous. 19The LORD knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will abide for ever; 20they are not put to shame in evil times, in the days of famine they have abundance. 21But the wicked perish; the enemies of the LORD are like the glory of the pastures, they vanish--like smoke they vanish away. 22The wicked borrows, and cannot pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives; 23for those blessed by the LORD shall possess the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off. 24The steps of a man are from the LORD, and he establishes him in whose way he delights; 25though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD is the stay of his hand. 26I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging bread. 27He is ever giving liberally and lending, and his children become a blessing. 28Depart from evil, and do good; so shall you abide for ever. 29For the LORD loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. The righteous shall be preserved for ever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. 30The righteous shall possess the land, and dwell upon it for ever. 31The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice. 32The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip. 33The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him. 34The LORD will not abandon him to his power, or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial. 35Wait for the LORD, and keep to his way, and he will exalt you to possess the land; you will look on the destruction of the wicked. 36I have seen a wicked man overbearing, and towering like a cedar of Lebanon. 37Again I passed by, and, lo, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found. 38Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright, for there is posterity for the man of peace. 39But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; the posterity of the wicked shall be cut off. 40The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; he is their refuge in the time of trouble. [ (Psalms 37:41) The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked, and saves them, because they take refuge in him. ] (RSV)

26 Psalms 37:1-40 1Do not fret because of evil men
or be envious of those who do wrong;

2for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.

3Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret -- it leads only to evil.

9For evil men will be cut off,
but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.

10A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.

11But the meek will inherit the land
and enjoy great peace.

12The wicked plot against the righteous
and gnash their teeth at them;

13but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he knows their day is coming.

14The wicked draw the sword
and bend the bow

to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose ways are upright.

15But their swords will pierce their own hearts,
and their bows will be broken.

16Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;

17for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the LORD upholds the righteous.

18The days of the blameless are known to the LORD,
and their inheritance will endure forever.

19In times of disaster they will not wither;
in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.

20But the wicked will perish:
The LORD's enemies will be like the beauty of the fields,
they will vanish -- vanish like smoke.

21The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously;

22those the LORD blesses will inherit the land,
but those he curses will be cut off.

23If the LORD delights in a man's way,
he makes his steps firm;

24though he stumble, he will not fall,
for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

25I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.

26They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be blessed.

27Turn from evil and do good;
then you will dwell in the land forever.

28For the LORD loves the just
and will not forsake his faithful ones.

They will be protected forever,
but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;

29the righteous will inherit the land
and dwell in it forever.

30The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom,
and his tongue speaks what is just.

31The law of his God is in his heart;
his feet do not slip.

32The wicked lie in wait for the righteous,
seeking their very lives;

33but the LORD will not leave them in their power
or let them be condemned when brought to trial.

34Wait for the LORD
and keep his way.

He will exalt you to inherit the land;
when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.

35I have seen a wicked and ruthless man
flourishing like a green tree in its native soil,

36but he soon passed away and was no more;
though I looked for him, he could not be found.

37Consider the blameless, observe the upright;
there is a future for the man of peace.

38But all sinners will be destroyed;
the future of the wicked will be cut off.

39The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

40The LORD helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.(NIV)

26 Psalms 37:1-40 1Don't fret because of evil-doers,
Neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.

2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither like the green herb.

3Trust in Yahweh, and do good.
Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.

4Also delight yourself in Yahweh,
And he will give you the desires of your heart.

5Commit your way to Yahweh.
Trust also in him, and he will do this:

6He will make your righteousness go forth as the light,
And your justice as the noon day sun.

7Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him.
Don't fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.

8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath.
Don't fret, it leads only to evildoing.

9For evildoers shall be cut off,
But those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land.

10For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more.
Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there.

11But the humble shall inherit the land,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12The wicked plots against the just,
And gnashes at him with his teeth.

13The Lord will laugh at him,
For he sees that his day is coming.

14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow,
To cast down the poor and needy,
To kill those who are upright in the way.

15Their sword shall enter into their own heart.
Their bows shall be broken.

16Better is a little that the righteous has,
Than the abundance of many wicked.

17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But Yahweh upholds the righteous.

18Yahweh knows the days of the perfect.
Their inheritance shall be forever.

19They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil.
In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20But the wicked shall perish.
The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields.
They will vanish'
Vanish like smoke.

21The wicked borrow, and don't pay back,
But the righteous give generously.

22For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land.
Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.

23A man's goings are established by Yahweh.
He delights in his way.

24Though he stumble, he shall not fall,
For Yahweh holds him up with his hand.

25I have been young, and now am old,
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his children begging for bread.

26All day long he deals graciously, and lends.
His seed is blessed.

27Depart from evil, and do good;
Live securely forever.

28For Yahweh loves justice,
And doesn't forsake his saints.
They are preserved forever,
But the children of the wicked shall be cut off.

29The righteous shall inherit the land,
And live in it forever.

30The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom.
His tongue speaks justice.

31The law of his God is in his heart.
None of his steps shall slide.

32The wicked watches the righteous,
And seeks to kill him.

33Yahweh will not leave him in his hand,
Nor condemn him when he is judged.

34Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way,
And he will exalt you to inherit the land.
When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

35I have seen the wicked in great power,
Spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.

36But he passed away, and, behold, he was not.
Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37Mark the perfect man, and see the upright,
For there is a future for the man of peace.

38As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together.
The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

39But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh.
He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.

26 Psalms 37:1-40 1DO not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity, 2For they will soon wither like grass, and fade away as the green herbs. 3Trust in God, and do good; live in the land, and seek after faithfulness. 4Trust in Yahvah; and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5Commit your way to Yahvah; also trust in him, and he will bring it to pass. 6He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.

7Seek Yahvah, and pray before him; do not envy the man who does evil, and prospers in his way. 8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret yourself in any way to do evil. 9For evildoers will be cut off: but those who trust in Yahvah will inherit the earth. 10For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more: yes, you will look for his place, and you will not find it. 11But the meek will inherit the earth, and will delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. 13The Lord will laugh at him; for he sees that his day is coming. 14The wicked have drawn out the sword and have bent their bow, to slay the poor and needy, and those who are upright in their way. 15Their swords will enter into their own hearts, and their bows will be broken. 16A little that a righteous man has is better than the great riches of the wicked. 17For the arms of the wicked will be broken; but Yahvah upholds the righteous. 18Yahvah knows the days of the upright; and their inheritance will be forever. 19They will not be ashamed in the evil time; and in the days of famine they will be satisfied. 20For the wicked will perish, and the rich who are enemies of Yahvah will be consumed; they will vanish like smoke.

21The wicked borrows, and does not pay again; but the righteous shows mercy, and gives. 22For the blessed of Yahvah will inherit the earth; and those who are cursed of him will be wiped out. 23The steps of a good man are established by Yahvah; he sets his course. 24Though he fall, he will not be hurt; for Yahvah upholds him with his hand. 25I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. 26But he is ever merciful and lends; and his offspring is blessed. 27Depart from evil, and do good; and rest forever. 28For Yahvah loves justice, and he does not forsake his righteous ones; he keeps them forever; but the seed of the wicked, he destroys. 29The righteous will inherit the land, and live it in forever. 30The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice. 31The law of God is in his heart; none of his steps will slide. 32The wicked lies in wait for the righteous, and seeks to slay him. 33Yahvah will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

34Trust in Yahvah and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it. 35For I have seen the wicked boasting and spreading himself like stout forest trees; 36Yet when I passed by, look, he was not; yes, I sought him, but he could not be found. 37Uphold the perfect and select the upright; for there is a good end for peaceful men. 38But sinners will be destroyed together; yes, the end of the wicked will be destruction. 39But the Savior of the righteous is Yahvah; he will help them in time of trouble. 40And Yahvah will help them and deliver them; he will deliver them from the wicked and save them, because they trust in him.
