26 Psalms 27:1-14 ¹לְדָוִ֨ד׀ יְהוָ֤ה׀ אוֹרִ֣י וְ֭יִשְׁעִי מִמִּ֣י אִירָ֑א יְהוָ֥ה מָֽעוֹז־ חַ֝יַּ֗י מִמִּ֥י אֶפְחָֽד׃ ²בִּקְרֹ֤ב עָלַ֨י׀ מְרֵעִים֮ לֶאֱכֹ֪ל אֶת־ בְּשָׂ֫רִ֥י צָרַ֣י וְאֹיְבַ֣י לִ֑י הֵ֖מָּה כָשְׁל֣וּ וְנָפָֽלוּ׃ ³אִם־ תַּחֲנֶ֬ה עָלַ֨י׀ מַחֲנֶה֮ לֹֽא־ יִירָ֪א לִ֫בִּ֥י אִם־ תָּק֣וּם עָ֭לַי מִלְחָמָ֑ה בְּ֝זֹ֗את אֲנִ֣י בוֹטֵֽחַ׃ ⁴אַחַ֤ת׀ שָׁאַ֣לְתִּי מֵֽאֵת־ יְהוָה֮ אוֹתָ֪הּ אֲבַ֫קֵּ֥שׁ שִׁבְתִּ֣י בְּבֵית־ יְ֭הוָה כָּל־ יְמֵ֣י חַיַּ֑י לַחֲז֥וֹת בְּנֹֽעַם־ יְ֝הוָ֗ה וּלְבַקֵּ֥ר בְּהֵיכָלֽוֹ׃ ⁵כִּ֤י יִצְפְּנֵ֨נִי׀ בְּסֻכֹּה֮ בְּי֪וֹם רָ֫עָ֥ה יַ֭סְתִּרֵנִי בְּסֵ֣תֶר אָהֳל֑וֹ בְּ֝צ֗וּר יְרוֹמְמֵֽנִי׃ ⁶וְעַתָּ֨ה יָר֪וּם רֹאשִׁ֡י עַ֤ל אֹֽיְבַ֬י סְֽבִיבוֹתַ֗י וְאֶזְבְּחָ֣ה בְ֭אָהֳלוֹ זִבְחֵ֣י תְרוּעָ֑ה אָשִׁ֥ירָה וַ֝אֲזַמְּרָ֗ה לַיהוָֽה׃ ⁷שְׁמַע־ יְהוָ֖ה קוֹלִ֥י אֶקְרָ֗א וְחָנֵּ֥נִי וַעֲנֵֽנִי׃ ⁸לְךָ֤׀ אָמַ֣ר לִ֭בִּי בַּקְּשׁ֣וּ פָנָ֑י אֶת־ פָּנֶ֖יךָ יְהוָ֣ה אֲבַקֵּֽשׁ׃ ⁹אַל־ תַּסְתֵּ֬ר פָּנֶ֨יךָ׀ מִמֶּנִּי֮ אַֽל־ תַּט־ בְּאַ֗ף עַ֫בְדֶּ֥ךָ עֶזְרָתִ֥י הָיִ֑יתָ אַֽל־ תִּטְּשֵׁ֥נִי וְאַל־ תַּֽ֝עַזְבֵ֗נִי אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׁעִֽי׃ ¹⁰כִּי־ אָבִ֣י וְאִמִּ֣י עֲזָב֑וּנִי וַֽיהוָ֣ה יַֽאַסְפֵֽנִי׃ ¹¹ה֤וֹרֵ֥נִי יְהוָ֗ה דַּ֫רְכֶּ֥ךָ וּ֭נְחֵנִי בְּאֹ֣רַח מִישׁ֑וֹר לְ֝מַ֗עַן שׁוֹרְרָֽי׃ ¹²אַֽל־ תִּ֭תְּנֵנִי בְּנֶ֣פֶשׁ צָרָ֑י כִּ֥י קָֽמוּ־ בִ֥י עֵֽדֵי־ שֶׁ֝֗קֶר וִיפֵ֥חַ חָמָֽס׃ ¹³לׅׄוּלֵׅ֗ׄאׅׄ הֶ֭אֱמַנְתִּי לִרְא֥וֹת בְּֽטוּב־ יְהוָ֗ה בְּאֶ֣רֶץ חַיִּֽים׃ ¹⁴קַוֵּ֗ה אֶל־ יְה֫וָ֥ה חֲ֭זַק וְיַאֲמֵ֣ץ לִבֶּ֑ךָ וְ֝קַוֵּ֗ה אֶל־ יְהוָֽה׃ (WLC)

26 Psalms 27:1

26 Psalms 27:1-14 ¹The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

²When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

³Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

⁴One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

⁵For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

⁶And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

⁷Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

⁸When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

⁹Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

¹⁰When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

¹¹Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

¹²Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

¹³I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

¹⁴Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.(KJV)

Whom shall I fear?

Jehovah is the strength of my life;

Of whom shall I be afraid?

²When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh,

Even mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

³Though a host should encamp against me,

My heart shall not fear:

Though war should rise against me,

Even then will I be confident.

⁴One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after;

That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of Jehovah,

And to inquire in his temple.

⁵For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion:

In the covert of his tabernacle will he hide me;

He will lift me up upon a rock.

⁶And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me.

And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy;

I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Jehovah.

⁷Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice:

Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

⁸When thou saidst, Seek ye my face;

My heart said unto thee,

Thy face, Jehovah, will I seek.

⁹Hide not thy face from me;

Put not thy servant away in anger:

Thou hast been my help;

Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

¹⁰When my father and my mother forsake me,

Then Jehovah will take me up.

¹¹Teach me thy way, O Jehovah;

And lead me in a plain path,

Because of mine enemies.

¹²Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries:

For false witnesses are risen up against me,

And such as breathe out cruelty.

¹³I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah

In the land of the living.

The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ²When evildoers came upon me to devour me, even my enemies and those who hate me, they together stumbled and fell. ³Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. ⁴One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the delight of the LORD, and to be in charge of his temple. ⁵For in the day of trouble he shall hide me in his shelter; in the shadow of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. ⁶And now shall my head he lifted up above my enemies round about me; therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises to the LORD.

⁷¶ Hear, O LORD, my voice when I call upon thee; have mercy also upon me and answer me. ⁸My heart said unto thee, Let my face seek thy face. ⁹Turn not away thy face from me, O LORD; trouble not thy servant in anger; thou hast been my help, O LORD; cast me not out, neither leave me, O my God and my Saviour. ¹⁰Although my father and my mother have deserted me, the LORD has taken me up. ¹¹Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in thy right paths. ¹²Deliver me not over into the hands of my enemies; for false witnesses are risen up against me and have spoken cruelly. ¹³But I have believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁴Trust in the LORD, and be of good courage; yea, trust in the LORD. 26 Psalms 27:1-14 ¹A Psalm of David. ²The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ³When evildoers assail me, uttering slanders against me, my adversaries and foes, they shall stumble and fall. ⁴Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. ⁵One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. ⁶For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent, he will set me high upon a rock. ⁷And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD. ⁸Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me! ⁹Thou hast said, "Seek ye my face." My heart says to thee, "Thy face, LORD, do I seek." ¹⁰Hide not thy face from me. Turn not thy servant away in anger, thou who hast been my help. Cast me not off, forsake me not, O God of my salvation! ¹¹For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me up. ¹²Teach me thy way, O LORD; and lead me on a level path because of my enemies. ¹³Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence. ¹⁴I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! [ (Psalms 27:15) Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, wait for the LORD! ] (RSV)

whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life --
of whom shall I be afraid?

²When evil men advance against me
to devour my flesh,

when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.

³Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;

though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.

⁴One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:

that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,

to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.

⁵For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;

he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.

⁶Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;

at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the LORD.

⁷Hear my voice when I call, O LORD;
be merciful to me and answer me.

⁸My heart says of you, "Seek his face!"
Your face, LORD, I will seek.

⁹Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.

Do not reject me or forsake me,
O God my Savior.

¹⁰Though my father and mother forsake me,
the LORD will receive me.

¹¹Teach me your way, O LORD;
lead me in a straight path
because of my oppressors.

¹²Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
breathing out violence.

¹³I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.

¹⁴Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.(NIV)

He will lift me up on a rock.

⁶Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me.

I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent.
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.

⁷Hear, Yahweh_f , when I cry with my voice.
Have mercy also on me, and answer me.

⁸When you said, 'Seek_P my face,'
My heart said to you, 'I will seek your face, Yahweh_f .'

⁹Don't hide your face from me.
Don't put your servant away in anger.

You have been my help.
Don't abandon me,
Neither forsake me, God of my salvation.

¹⁰When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then Yahweh will take me up.

¹¹Teach me your way, Yahweh_f .
Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies.

¹²Don't deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries,
For false witnesses have risen up against me,
Such as breathe out cruelty.

¹³I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.

¹⁴Wait for Yahweh.

⁷Hear, oh Yahvah, my voice when I call on you; also have mercy on me and answer me. ⁸My heart said to you, Let my face seek your face. ⁹Do not turn your face away from me, oh Yahvah; do not trouble your servant in anger; you have been my help, oh Yahvah; do not cast me out, nor leave me, oh my God and my Savior. ¹⁰Although my father and my mother have deserted me, Yahvah has taken me up. ¹¹Teach me your way, oh Yahvah, and lead me in your right paths. ¹²Do not deliver me over into the hands of my enemies; for false witnesses are risen up against me and have spoken cruelly. ¹³But I have believed to see the goodness of Yahvah in the land of the living. ¹⁴Trust in Yahvah, and be of good courage; yes, trust in Yahvah.
