26 Psalms 27:1-14 1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

6And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

7Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

9Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

11Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.(KJV)

26 Psalms 27:1-14 1Jehovah is my light and my salvation;

Whom shall I fear?

Jehovah is the strength of my life;

Of whom shall I be afraid?

2When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh,

Even mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

3Though a host should encamp against me,

My heart shall not fear:

Though war should rise against me,

Even then will I be confident.

4One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after;

That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of Jehovah,

And to inquire in his temple.

5For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion:

In the covert of his tabernacle will he hide me;

He will lift me up upon a rock.

6And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me.

And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy;

I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Jehovah.

7Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice:

Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8When thou saidst, Seek ye my face;

My heart said unto thee,

Thy face, Jehovah, will I seek.

9Hide not thy face from me;

Put not thy servant away in anger:

Thou hast been my help;

Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10When my father and my mother forsake me,

Then Jehovah will take me up.

11Teach me thy way, O Jehovah;

And lead me in a plain path,

Because of mine enemies.

12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries:

For false witnesses are risen up against me,

And such as breathe out cruelty.

13I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah

In the land of the living.

26 Psalms 27:1-14 1THE LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2When evildoers came upon me to devour me, even my enemies and those who hate me, they together stumbled and fell. 3Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. 4One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the delight of the LORD, and to be in charge of his temple. 5For in the day of trouble he shall hide me in his shelter; in the shadow of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. 6And now shall my head he lifted up above my enemies round about me; therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises to the LORD.

7¶ Hear, O LORD, my voice when I call upon thee; have mercy also upon me and answer me. 8My heart said unto thee, Let my face seek thy face. 9Turn not away thy face from me, O LORD; trouble not thy servant in anger; thou hast been my help, O LORD; cast me not out, neither leave me, O my God and my Saviour. 10Although my father and my mother have deserted me, the LORD has taken me up. 11Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in thy right paths. 12Deliver me not over into the hands of my enemies; for false witnesses are risen up against me and have spoken cruelly. 13But I have believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. 14Trust in the LORD, and be of good courage; yea, trust in the LORD. 26 Psalms 27:1-14 1A Psalm of David. 2The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 3When evildoers assail me, uttering slanders against me, my adversaries and foes, they shall stumble and fall. 4Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. 5One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. 6For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent, he will set me high upon a rock. 7And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD. 8Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me! 9Thou hast said, "Seek ye my face." My heart says to thee, "Thy face, LORD, do I seek." 10Hide not thy face from me. Turn not thy servant away in anger, thou who hast been my help. Cast me not off, forsake me not, O God of my salvation! 11For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me up. 12Teach me thy way, O LORD; and lead me on a level path because of my enemies. 13Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence. 14I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! [ (Psalms 27:15) Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, wait for the LORD! ] (RSV)

26 Psalms 27:1-14 1The LORD is my light and my salvation --
whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life --
of whom shall I be afraid?

2When evil men advance against me
to devour my flesh,

when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.

3Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;

though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.

4One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:

that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,

to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.

5For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;

he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.

6Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;

at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the LORD.

7Hear my voice when I call, O LORD;
be merciful to me and answer me.

8My heart says of you, "Seek his face!"
Your face, LORD, I will seek.

9Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.

Do not reject me or forsake me,
O God my Savior.

10Though my father and mother forsake me,
the LORD will receive me.

11Teach me your way, O LORD;
lead me in a straight path
because of my oppressors.

12Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
breathing out violence.

13I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.

14Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.(NIV)
