26 Psalms 5:1-12 1Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

3My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

5The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

6Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

7But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

8Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

10Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

11But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.(KJV)

26 Psalms 5:1-12 1Give ear to my words, O Jehovah,

Consider my meditation.

2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God;

For unto thee do I pray.

3O Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice;

In the morning will I order my prayer unto thee, and will keep watch.

4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness:

Evil shall not sojourn with thee.

5The arrogant shall not stand in thy sight:

Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

6Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies:

Jehovah abhorreth the blood-thirsty and deceitful man.

7But as for me, in the abundance of thy lovingkindness will I come into thy house:

In thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

8Lead me, O Jehovah, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies;

Make thy way straight before my face.

9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth;

Their inward part is very wickedness;

Their throat is an open sepulchre;

They flatter with their tongue.

10Hold them guilty, O God;

Let them fall by their own counsels;

Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions;

For they have rebelled against thee.

11But let all those that take refuge in thee rejoice,

Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them:

Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

12For thou wilt bless the righteous;(ASV)

26 Psalms 5:1-12 1GIVE ear to my words, O LORD, and consider my meditation. 2Hearken to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to thee do I pray. 3My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD: and in the morning will I prepare myself and see thee. 4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; neither shall evil dwell with thee. 5The proud shall not stand in thy sight; thou hatest all workers of iniquity. 6Thou shalt destroy them that speak falsehood; the LORD will reject the bloody and deceitful man.

7¶ But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy; and I will enter into thy house and worship in thy holy temple. 8Lead me, O LORD, in thy reverence and righteousness; and because of mine enemies, make thy way straight before my face. 9For there is no justice in their mouth; there is wickedness in them; their throat is an open sepulchre; they deceive with their tongues. 10Condemn thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their wickedness, for they have provoked thee. 11But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice; they shall glorify thee forever, and thou shalt dwell among them; and all they that love thy name shall be strengthened by thee. 12For thou wilt bless the righteous; O LORD, thou hast adorned me like a perfect shield. 26 Psalms 5:1-12 1To the choirmaster: for the flutes. A Psalm of David. 2Give ear to my words, O LORD; give heed to my groaning. 3Hearken to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to thee do I pray. 4O LORD, in the morning thou dost hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for thee, and watch. 5For thou art not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not sojourn with thee. 6The boastful may not stand before thy eyes; thou hatest all evildoers. 7Thou destroyest those who speak lies; the LORD abhors bloodthirsty and deceitful men. 8But I through the abundance of thy steadfast love will enter thy house, I will worship toward thy holy temple in the fear of thee. 9Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of my enemies; make thy way straight before me. 10For there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is destruction, their throat is an open sepulchre, they flatter with their tongue. 11Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of their many transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against thee. 12But let all who take refuge in thee rejoice, let them ever sing for joy; and do thou defend them, that those who love thy name may exult in thee. [ (Psalms 5:13) For thou dost bless the righteous, O LORD; thou dost cover him with favor as with a shield. ] (RSV)

26 Psalms 5:1-12 1Give ear to my words, O LORD,
consider my sighing.

2Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.

3In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation.

4You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil;
with you the wicked cannot dwell.

5The arrogant cannot stand in your presence;
you hate all who do wrong.

6You destroy those who tell lies;
bloodthirsty and deceitful men
the LORD abhors.

7But I, by your great mercy,
will come into your house;

in reverence will I bow down
toward your holy temple.

8Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness
because of my enemies --
make straight your way before me.

9Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;
their heart is filled with destruction.

Their throat is an open grave;
with their tongue they speak deceit.

10Declare them guilty, O God!
Let their intrigues be their downfall.

Banish them for their many sins,
for they have rebelled against you.

11But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.

Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

12For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield.(NIV)
