4Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying, 5Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? 6And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves? 7Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain? 8And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying, 9Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: 10And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. 11But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. 12Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts. 13Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts: 14But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.(KJV) 19 Zechariah 7:1-14
4Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying, 5Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in month 5 and month 7, even those 70 years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.(KJV/NC) 19 Zechariah 7:1-14
19 Zechariah 7:1-14
8¶ And the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, saying, 9Thus says the LORD of hosts: Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother; 10And do not oppress the widow nor the orphan, the poor nor the proselyte; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in his heart. 11But they refused to hearken, they rebelled and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. 12Yea, they made their hearts like adamant, lest they should hear the law, and the ordinances which the LORD of hosts has sent in his Spirit by the former prophets; therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts. 13Since I have called them and they would not hear, so they shall call me and I will not listen, says the LORD of hosts. 14And I scattered them among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, without any one to pass through it and without an inhabitant, because they made the pleasant land a desolation. (LAM) 19 Zechariah 7:1-14
8And the word of the LORD came to Zechari'ah, saying, 9"Thus says the LORD of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy each to his brother, 10do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart." 11But they refused to hearken, and turned a stubborn shoulder, and stopped their ears that they might not hear. 12They made their hearts like adamant lest they should hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore great wrath came from the LORD of hosts. 13"As I called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear," says the LORD of hosts, 14"and I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land they left was desolate, so that no one went to and fro, and the pleasant land was made desolate."(RSV) 19 Zechariah 7:1-14
4Then the word of the LORD Almighty came to me: 5"Ask all the people of the land and the priests, `When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months for the past seventy years, was it really for me that you fasted? 6And when you were eating and drinking, were you not just feasting for yourselves? 7Are these not the words the LORD proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem and its surrounding towns were at rest and prosperous, and the Negev and the western foothills were settled?'" 8And the word of the LORD came again to Zechariah: 9"This is what the LORD Almighty says: `Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. 10Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other.' 11"But they refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned their backs and stopped up their ears. 12They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the LORD Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the LORD Almighty was very angry. 13"`When I called, they did not listen; so when they called, I would not listen,' says the LORD Almighty. 14`I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations, where they were strangers. The land was left so desolate behind them that no one could come or go. This is how they made the pleasant land desolate.'"(NIV) 19 Zechariah 7:1-14
4Then the word of Yahweh of Armies came to me, saying, 5'Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, 'When youP fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh month for these seventy years, did youP at all fast to me, really to me? 6When youP eat, and when youP drink, don't youP eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves? 7Aren't these the words which Yahweh proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and its cities around her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?'' 8The word of Yahweh came to Zechariah, saying, 9'Thus has Yahweh of Armies spoken, saying, 'Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother. 10Don't oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the foreigner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart.' 11But they refused to listen, and turned their backs, and stopped their ears, that they might not hear. 12Yes, they made their hearts as hard as flint, lest they might hear the law, and the words which Yahweh of Armies had sent by his Spirit by the former prophets. Therefore great wrath came from Yahweh of Armies. 13It has come to pass that, as he called, and they refused to listen, so they will call, and I will not listen,' said Yahweh of Armies; 14'but I will scatter them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they have not known. Thus the land was desolate after them, so that no man passed through nor returned: for they made the pleasant land desolate.'(WEB) 19 Zechariah 7:1-14

8And the word of Yahvah came to Zechariah, saying, 9Thus says Yahvah of hosts: Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother; 10And do not oppress the widow nor the orphan, the poor nor the proselyte; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in his heart. 11But they refused to listen, they rebelled and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. 12Yes, they made their hearts like adamant, lest they should hear the law, and the ordinances which Yahvah of hosts has sent in his Spirit by the former prophets; therefore came a great wrath from Yahvah of hosts. 13Since I have called them and they would not hear, so they will call me and I will not listen, says Yahvah of hosts. 14And I scattered them among all the nations whom they did not know. Thus the land was desolate after them, without anyone to pass through it and without an inhabitant, because they made the pleasant land a desolation. (BRB)
