12 Ezekiel 11:1-25 1Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORDS house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, the princes of the people. 2Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city: 3Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh.

4Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man. 5And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. 6Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. 7Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. 8Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD. 9And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. 10Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 11This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel: 12And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.

13And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel? 14Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 15Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession. 16Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. 17Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. 19And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.

22Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. 23And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

24Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.(KJV)

12 Ezekiel 11:1-25 1MOREOVER the spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the house of the LORD, which looks eastward; and I beheld at the entrance of the gate twenty-five men; and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2Then the LORD said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise mischief and give wicked counsel in this city, 3Saying, We have built houses in the midst of it; the city is the caldron, and we are the meat. 4Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O Son of man. 5And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says the LORD God: Thus have you desired, O house of Israel; for I know the inclination of your thought. 6You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain. 7Therefore thus says the LORD God: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the meat, and this city is the caldron; but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. 8You have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, says the LORD God. 9And I will bring you out of the midst of it and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and I will execute judgments upon you. 10You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and you shall know that I am the LORD. 11This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall you be the meat in the midst of it; but I will judge you in the border of Israel; 12And you shall know that I am the LORD; for you have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have followed after the ordinances of the Gentiles that are round about you. 13And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah, LORD God! wilt thou make full end of the remnant of Israel?

14¶ And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 15Son of man, your brethren, your brethren, even your kindred, who are in your captivity, and all the house of Israel shall be annihilated, for the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said to them, Get you far from the LORD; to us is this land given for an inheritance. 16Therefore say, Thus says the LORD God: I will cast them far off among the Gentiles, and I will scatter them among the countries, nevertheless I will be to them a little sanctuary in the countries where they have gone. 17Therefore say, Thus says the LORD God: I will gather you from among the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18And they shall come thither, and shall remove from it all its idols and all its abominations. 19And I will give them a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within them; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and I will give them a heart of flesh, 20That they may walk in my commandments and keep my ordinances and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for those whose heart followed after their images and abominations, I will recompense their evil ways upon their own heads, says the LORD God.

22¶ Then the cherubim lifted up their wings and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. 23And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24Then the spirit lifted me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into the land of Chaldea to those of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen departed from me. 25Then I spoke to those of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shown me. (LAM)

12 Ezekiel 11:1-25 1The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of the house of the LORD, which faces east. And behold, at the door of the gateway there were twenty-five men; and I saw among them Ja-azani'ah the son of Azzur, and Pelati'ah the son of Benai'ah, princes of the people. 2And he said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and who give wicked counsel in this city; 3who say, `The time is not near to build houses; this city is the caldron, and we are the flesh.' 4Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man."

5And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he said to me, "Say, Thus says the LORD: So you think, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. 6You have multiplied your slain in this city, and have filled its streets with the slain. 7Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron; but you shall be brought forth out of the midst of it. 8You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword upon you, says the Lord GOD. 9And I will bring you forth out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of foreigners, and execute judgments upon you. 10You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you at the border of Israel; and you shall know that I am the LORD. 11This city shall not be your caldron, nor shall you be the flesh in the midst of it; I will judge you at the border of Israel; 12and you shall know that I am the LORD; for you have not walked in my statutes, nor executed my ordinances, but have acted according to the ordinances of the nations that are round about you."

13And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelati'ah the son of Benai'ah died. Then I fell down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, "Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?"

14And the word of the LORD came to me: 15"Son of man, your brethren, even your brethren, your fellow exiles, the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those of whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, `They have gone far from the LORD; to us this land is given for a possession.' 16Therefore say, `Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.' 17Therefore say, `Thus says the Lord GOD: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.' 18And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations. 19And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them; I will take the stony heart out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, 20that they may walk in my statutes and keep my ordinances and obey them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will requite their deeds upon their own heads, says the Lord GOD."

22Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. 23And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chalde'a, to the exiles. Then the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25And I told the exiles all the things that the LORD had showed me.(RSV)

12 Ezekiel 11:1-25 1Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the LORD that faces east. There at the entrance to the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people. 2The LORD said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city. 3They say, `Will it not soon be time to build houses? This city is a cooking pot, and we are the meat.' 4Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man."

5Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon me, and he told me to say: "This is what the LORD says: That is what you are saying, O house of Israel, but I know what is going through your mind. 6You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead.

7"Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: The bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it. 8You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign LORD. 9I will drive you out of the city and hand you over to foreigners and inflict punishment on you. 10You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD. 11This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. 12And you will know that I am the LORD, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you."

13Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, "Ah, Sovereign LORD! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?"

14The word of the LORD came to me: 15"Son of man, your brothers -- your brothers who are your blood relatives and the whole house of Israel -- are those of whom the people of Jerusalem have said, `They are far away from the LORD; this land was given to us as our possession.'

16"Therefore say: `This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.'

17"Therefore say: `This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.'

18"They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. 19I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD."

22Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. 23The glory of the LORD went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain east of it. 24The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia in the vision given by the Spirit of God. Then the vision I had seen went up from me, 25and I told the exiles everything the LORD had shown me.(NIV)

12 Ezekiel 11:1-25 1Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh's house, which looks eastward: and see, at the door of the gate twenty-five men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2He said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city; 3who say, The time is not near to build houses: this city is the caldron, and we are the flesh. 4Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man. 5The Spirit of Yahweh fell on me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says Yahweh: Thus have youP said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. 6YouP have multiplied your slain in this city, and youP have filled the streets of it with the slain. 7Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Your slain whom youP have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron; but youP shall be brought forth out of the midst of it. 8YouP have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you, says the Lord Yahweh. 9I will bring you forth out of the midst of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. 10YouP shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and youP shall know that I am Yahweh. 11This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall youP be the flesh in the midst of it; I will judge you in the border of Israel; 12and youP shall know that I am Yahweh: for youP have not walked in my statutes, neither have youP executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you. 13It happened, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Yahweh! will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel? 14The word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 15Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, are they to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from Yahweh; to us is this land given for a possession. 16Therefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they are come. 17Therefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where youP have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18They shall come there, and they shall take away all the detestable things of it and all the abominations of it from there. 19I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh; 20that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads, says the Lord Yahweh. 22Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. 23The glory of Yahweh went up from the midst of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25Then I spoke to them of the captivity all the things that Yahweh had shown me.(WEB)

12 Ezekiel 11:1-25 1MOREOVER, the spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the house of Yahvah, which looks eastward; and I saw at the entrance of the gate 25 men; and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2Then Yahvah said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise mischief and give wicked counsel in this city, 3Saying, We have built houses in the middle of it; the city is the caldron, and we are the meat. 4Therefore, prophesy against them, prophesy, oh Son of man. 5And the Spirit of Yahvah fell on me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says Yahvah God, This you have desired, oh house of Israel; for I know the inclination of your thought. 6You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain. 7Therefore, thus says Yahvah God, Your slain whom you have laid in the middle of it, they are the meat, and this city is the caldron; but I will bring you forth out of the middle of it. 8You have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword on you, says Yahvah God. 9And I will bring you out of the middle of it and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and I will execute judgments on you. 10You will fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and you will know that I am Yahvah. 11This city will not be your caldron, nor will you be the meat in the middle of it; but I will judge you in the border of Israel; 12And you will know that I am Yahvah; for you have not walked in my statutes, nor executed my judgments, but have followed after the ordinances of the Gentiles that are around you. 13And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah, Yahvah God. Will you make full end of the remnant of Israel?

14And the word of Yahvah came to me, saying, 15Son of man, your brothers, your brothers, even your relatives, who are in your captivity, and all the house of Israel will be annihilated, for the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said to them, Get far from Yahvah; this land is given to us for an inheritance. 16Therefore, say, Thus says Yahvah God, I will cast them far off among the Gentiles, and I will scatter them among the countries, nevertheless I will be to them a little sanctuary in the countries where they have gone. 17Therefore, say, Thus says Yahvah God, I will gather you from among the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18And they will come in there, and will remove from it all its idols and all its abominations. 19And I will give them a new heart, and I will put a new spirit inside them; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and I will give them a heart of flesh, 20That they may walk in my commandments and keep my ordinances and do them; and they will be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for those whose heart followed after their images and abominations, I will repay their evil ways on their own heads, says Yahvah God.

22Then the cherubim lifted up their wings and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. 23And the glory of Yahvah went up from the middle of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24Then the spirit lifted me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into the land of Chaldea to those of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen departed from me. 25Then I spoke to those of the captivity all the things that Yahvah had shown me. (BRB)
