¹GOD created the heavens and the earth in the very beginning. ²And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the water. ³And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. ⁴And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. ⁵And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the 1st day.

⁶And God said, Let there be a firmament in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. ⁷And God made the firmament, and divided the waters that were under the firmament from the waters that were above the firmament; and it was so. ⁸And God called the firmament Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the 2nd day.

⁹And God said, Let the waters that are under the sky be gathered together in one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so. ¹⁰And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters he called Seas; and God saw that it was good. ¹¹And God said, Let the earth bring forth vegetation, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, in which is their seed, on the earth; and it was so. ¹²And the earth brought forth vegetation, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the tree bearing fruit, in which is its seed, after its kind; and God saw that it was good. ¹³And there was evening and there was morning, the 3rd day.

¹⁴Then God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years. ¹⁵And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light on the earth; and it was so. ¹⁶And God made 2 great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the smaller light to rule the night; and also the stars. ¹⁷And God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, ¹⁸And to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. ¹⁹And there was evening and there was morning, the 4th day.

²⁰And God said, Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open firmament of the heaven. ²¹And God created great sea monsters, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good. ²²And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth. ²³And there was evening and there was morning, the 5th day.

²⁴Then God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and wild animals of the earth after their kind; and it was so. ²⁵And God made the wild animals of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the earth after its kind; and God saw that it was good. ²⁶Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. ²⁷So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. ²⁸And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals that move on the earth. ²⁹And God said, Look, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree which bears fruit yielding seed; to you it will be for food. ³⁰And to every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food; and it was so. ³¹And God saw everything that he had made, and look, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the 6th day.
